Are we nearly there yet?

I've been asked in the last few days if I took any photos of my expedition into the intricacies of the gear shift lever. I've been lax in so doing, mainly because the state of the rest of the chassis isn't at its photogenic best. But I thought I'd come clean, so this is where I am starting from. DSC...

Re: Webber Carburettor choke link - what should it look like

Julian - thank you very much indeed, those are the pages I was hoping someone could find me. So they do exist! Excellent, and it shows that the offending link was supposed to be bent in the middle to miss the choke cable anchor. My very many thanks Best rgds Simon PS got it idling very prettily toni...

Re: Webber Carburettor choke link - what should it look like

Hi Jeff, many thanks for putting up the picture. It sure seems like someone had the same issue, and resolved it in a very distinctive way.

Hopefully I can do something the same.

Best rgds Simon

Re: Webber Carburettor choke link - what should it look like

Thanks for the reply John, unfortunately my copy of the part list doesn't include the Webber carburettor at all, doesn't even list it on the contents page. There is a side view of this carb' in the service manual, but it's taken from straight on the side view, and doesn't show the lateral relation b...

Webber Carburettor choke link - what should it look like?

Good afternoon all, please could I have some help. I have a 1965 RHD SWB polycab, with the Webber carburettor. I am convinced that there is something amiss with the link which joins the choke butterfly to the main throttle butterfly idle lift link. As the choke comes on, the anchor for the choke cab...

Re: Gear shift lever removal

Good morning again, and thank you John for your encouragement. I don't think it's possible to get the control rod out with the gear lever attached - I looked at that but the rod goes over the front transaxle turret and there is next to no space spare. I'm not even sure you can withdraw the rod forwa...

Re: Gear shift lever removal

Good morning again, I've answered my own question, with the help of my nephew who's played this game before. There is a little sleeve over the M7 bolt which was well and truly seized on the shank of the bolt, I couldn't shift it in situ. Laid underneath it musing on what to wreck first, I decided th...

Gear shift lever removal

Good morning all, I need a bit of help. with my SWB 1967 Haf' RHD Polycab. I'm trying to resolve a problem with selecting reverse. Sometimes it does, mostly it doesn't. I am in the throes of removing the gear shift lever to service the interlock mechanism, and to get rid of some of the lost motion a...

Re: maybe carb fault

Thank you John, I like those Facet pumps and have ordered the very same. I bought one which said it was Facet in the advert but when it came it didn't have the name on the pump, only on the package. The advert is vague about what pressure it develops, and was half the price of the one I've just orde...

Re: maybe carb fault

Good morning, been lurking for a bit but this shut down gives me the chance to isolate in my shed with a Haflinger to mend. I've fitted an electric pump, but I'm concerned about the closed valve pressure on these as the float valve seems to only want very low pressure supplied to it, otherwise it ge...
