Re: Halinger and Pinzgauer Club UK Events
Uk members of this Forum who are members of the Hflinger and Pinzgauer Club UK missed an excellent meet in Dersingham, Norfolk. I missed the Saturday Green Road run (clutch cable snapped 50 metres from the site gate) as did 'Lurch' and JB who were on a 7 hour trip to get there. Apart from that it wa...

Re: Reverse gear.
Hello A quick question on the reverse gear subject. I have the reverse and crawler gear very difficult/impossible to engage problem. Before delving deeper I had planned to check the action and shimming of the gate/linkage at the gear lever end. Is it front underrshield off and release the bolt (item...

Re: Setting up choke disc on Zenith carburettor
I have been trying to get my Haf to run less rich. The problem is not fuel consumption as I haven't done enough road miles to have a handle on how economical it is, but the problem is that it chokes itself up and heavily fouls the plugs making starting difficult. Years of experience of other engines...

Dave
I'm very happy to have a copy of your tranlated pages - with or without spiral edges. If you can't find a suitable programme that suits how about just scanning the pages and cropping the scans to remove the unwanted spirals, before saving them?
Regards

Re: Setting up choke disc on Zenith carburettor
John Many thanks I have now found and downloaded the Ron LaDow 'Adjusting NDIX Carburettors' article. Very useful thanks. I haven't checked the jet sizes - just individually blew them through with an airline. I have now had the choke disc assembly back off the car and found I had installed the disc ...

Re: Setting up choke disc on Zenith carburettor
Hi John and Dave As always thank you for your speedy and helpful responses to my post. For some reason i completely failed to gain access to Ron LaDow's articles on the NDIX on the Porsche 356 Club and forum sites. I kept getting blocked by a request for a $75 membership subscription! However I fini...

Setting up choke disc on Zenith carburettor
Greetings. I have stripped my carburettor to try and solve rich running problems and I suspect that the brass choke disc may have been incorrectly set up. By this I mean the orientation of the disc relating to the external choke operating crank. The shaft controlling the choke disc has a four faced ...

Re: Fuel tank sender issues
John Very many thanks for all your helpful and constructive suggestions. I have followed all the various wiring configurations and finally concluded that the AC gauge that I have is either not working or that is is not in a compatible resistance range for the VDO sender. I have therefore bought a ne...

Re: Fuel tank sender issues
The new VDO sender has arrived and gives the same OHM's reading as the existing one and displays exactly the same gauge readings - that is: Ignition off the gauge reads empty Ignition on with no sender connected reads full Sender in simulated full position (float at top) reads empty Sender in simula...

Re: Fuel tank sender issues
John Very many thanks for youir response. I am due a new VDO sender unit today from Merlin Motorsport and will try that. Failing success with that I will have the dash out again and photograph the guage wiring to see if it gives any clues and try a temporary wire from guage to sender. In my case the...

Re: Fuel tank sender issues
Hi many thanks for your response. I too had concluded that a new VDO sender might be the way forward. I wouild add however that I am getting a 4.1v feed down the trigger wire that doesn't make much sense to me? I hadn't realised that a fuel guage was not standard but strangely my tank (that looks or...

Fuel tank sender issues
I have a VDO (22401100024) dip tube type sender unit fitted which wasn't working when I bought the Haf. It reads full regardless of fuel level. The guage tests fine as does the wiring to it and the earth wire shows no reistance. The correct resistance range for the VDO sender is Less than 3 Ohms at ...
