Re: Sloooow Starter

Hello Guys

I tried a non deep cycle battery and it was a lot different. Also John the earth strap from the dynastarter was not the best so I cleaned it up and it made a big difference. Both these things have helped a lot.

Thank you both

Sloooow Starter

Hi All My starter is working very slowly it barely turns the motor over and definitely not enough to start it. I have a fully charged big deep cycle battery so it is not that. It has always been a bit slow but after a period of inactivity (a year maybe more) it is very very slow indeed. Any Ideas? Sam

Dave

Can you try it on another machine? If it still does not work maybe everyone will have a problem that I will need to fix.

2 Fantastic Haflingers for Sale!

Hi All I have two Haflingers for sale. I will post pictures but they are in storage at a friends so it may be a week or so before I can. I have had these two for years and to be honest they are the best ones I have ever seen. I have had 7 Haflingers in total and these were the two I was going to kee...

Re: Solid sheet headache panel?

Hi All

I read somewhere once the Swiss used these as missile launchers. Could it be something to do with that?

Re: Clean

Bernard

What process is that? It looks beautiful. Is it water with beads, or vapour blasting?

I would love to know and I wish my engine looked like that.

Re: Compression Figures

Thanks all

Those figures are surprising and quite a range. This vehicle is a 74 and my figures are pretty close to the 115 so it sounds like it is in good shape.

I thought it sounded a bit low. I read Garry's post and he had 165 (or something like that) so I was a bit concerned.

Re: Compression Figures

Thanks Guys

I thought one was going to be low but the fact that they are the same sounds good and I am inclined to leave it undisturbed!

Compression Figures

Hi All What should the compression figures be on a stock standard engine. I have just bought a cheapie Chinese compression tester and I am getting identical figures of 105psi on both cylinders. I only screwed the thing in hand tight as I was expecting one to be well down but I am really interested t...

Rear Doors

Hi All

Are the rear canvas doors the same for LWB & SWB models?

Or are the LWB versions larger?

Thanks

Oil Bath Filter

Hi All I know this has been done to death recently but I could not find the answer I needed. I have removed my oil bath filter and taken out the cartridge stuffed with swarf. My manual says bath this in gasoline to clean which is fair enough. The thing is there is also another section (the top) of t...

Re: Fuel tank lining clogging line and carby

I did 2 Pinzgauer tanks that way and it works out more expensive in the end. My welding is ok but not good enough so that cost. Also the problem is the fuel seeps into the metal over the years and can make it dodgy to weld. Interestingly the heat process gets rid of all that fuel too. Seriously go f...

Re: Fuel tank lining clogging line and carby

Hi Yakov I have done 3 Pinzgauer tanks now and these are even more difficult as they have the baffles inside which are a B*****d to work around. Try a chemical stripping firm like Rick has, there are bound to be a few about where you are. Alternatively I had great results from a company here that di...

Handbrake Adjustment

Hi All Is moving the levers on the splines a legitimate method of adjusting the handbrake? I have put new shoes in and when I pull the handbrake up it feels spongy. It has never worked properly so I have nothing to gauge it by, should it come to a sudden tight stop like a modern handbrake or is it m...

Brake Light Switch

Hi All

Has anyone got a cross reference for the stock brake light switch attached to the master cylinder?

I seem to remember seeing somewhere it is a pretty standard item.

I am in Australia and would like to get one this week so I can rebuild my brakes next weekend.

Thanks
