Re: Runs and mostly stops!

Ahhh.... the blue thing is just a steering wheel club lock style anti theft thing resting between the seats :) Yeah the levers are just wrapped in green and yellow tape. Might look at plastidip at some stage.

You can still get Yokohama M&S R12 tyres direct from Japan...might be the smallest diameter tyre you can buy though

Both the metal and the fibreglass doors are local "factory" options as I believe they were manufactured in Melbourne and sold as options. If anyone has an Australian price list....

Re: 703 for sale in Australia

My dad pointed out there are two photos of haflingers with that rear setup at http://tdc.haflinger-4wd.com/countries/australia.php

It could even be the same one that's in the black and white photo. Who knows.

The door is missing off the one on carsales.

Or have a look at marine tachometers....multi voltage, 6000rpm range, and very programmable as to number of pulses per rpm

Re: What did you do with your Haflinger today?

Still nice and clean sitting in the garage. Greased all the front end and replaced nipples that were too blocked. Bought some oil to change fluids...but not changed. That's enough for 2018 surely. ;)

Re: Pickles auction in Canberra Australia

Went for about $5100 after fees. I didn't get to inspect it but seems a fair price given the motor is in pieces.

Well done to whomever won!

Re: Muffler options?

My haf had a bodgey home modified muffler with some pipe with right angles on the outside to bring the inlet and outlet to the same end. I think you need to find a "type 3" muffler. I gave up trying to find one in Australia at a reasonable price. It was cheaper and easier to buy one from D...

Re: piston to bore clearance

Sorry no but

From the 1962 Repair Instructions Manual, its says 0.04-0.05mm for 80mm pistons.
and the wear limit is 0.15mm (.006") max

6thou would seeming make them brand new worn out

Just on photo sharing. I upload any photos to a free account at www.flickr.com (which is actually Yahoo) and then click share and select the BBCode option.....which you can cut and paste straight into a post on this forum.

cheers

Re: Rear hoop is coming out OK, I think...

Looks good! My original full top wore holes over rounds tubes hoops anyway. So had the half top I have now. So either way an extra canvas wear strip sound like a good idea.
