Re: Ebay Hafi for sale Texas

This truck ended up in Portland, OR. The owners name is Jim and he is a really great guy. He is lovingly bringing this tired little truck back to life and I think it will end up being a great truck. The engine purrs like a kitten and does not even let out a puff of smoke to let you know that there i...

Re: AccuSpark Rev Limiter

In my case, my original Weber intake manifold was rotten. I found a replacement, but the hole for the governor butterfly had been sealed up. Easy solution: electronic cut off.

Have you ever had a vacuum leak through that shaft? It seems like a likely place for air to get in...

Re: Pertronix install Tips

After waiting on hold for 20 min, I did talk to someone. They helped me make sure that I had indeed followed the traditional troubleshooting steps properly. That narrowed it down to the Ignitor components itself that had led to the no spark situation. They just wanted to switch out the defective par...

Re: Pertronix install Tips

Jim, Thanks sooooo much for posting this! I just tried to fire up my truck after a full engine rebuild, and ignition system upgrade... no spark... well my brand new Ignitor ended up having all four magnets facing North. After fussing around with the plastic cover and switching the magnets like you o...

Re: Engine assembly tips and tricks

Kerry, Thanks for the tips! I used a felt tip marker to give reference marks on the main bearing. Regarding the plugs, ii had a machine shop remove the plugs from the crank and clean it out properly, they also installed new plugs... Now I have the everything mounted up in the cases, and plan to get ...

Re: Engine assembly tips and tricks

Ok, I solved the spacer problem. I put the wrong key in the slot under the cam drive gear. Now it is all fixed, and the crank is squarely mounted into the cases. If anyone has tips on mounting the cam, I am all ears!

Thanks!

Engine assembly tips and tricks

Hello all, I am about to put my Mk1 engine back together after freshening up all the bits. I have a couple of specific questions, but would also love to hear any general tips you all have to share. First question: Please look at this picture of the spacer in between the cam drive gear and the distri...

Re: Engine rebuild in Sydney Australia

Did you take the engine apart yourself? The manual provides various technical specs but it is not the same as the well know Haynes manuals - It does provide some some basic instructions but on the whole it designed for people who have had some training on the Haflinger. If you have taken any engine...

Who is planning on coming?

I am in the middle of an engine rebuild, and with critical parts lost in transit, I am not bringing my truck. Hopefully I can come just to see everyone.
