Re: Hemi the Haff.

Don't know if anyone on here is interested, but i have a large batch of powder coating powder made to paint code 2660 6-066 (Cactus green 3020 G10Y) which i think is very close to the old reseda green original colour. There's loads left over as it only took a few Kgs to coat everything including the...

Re: hoods & doors

I had some door canvases supplied by a guy called Peter Gutmann in Austria i think who was an agent for whoever made them. 5 years ago they were roughly 200 euro's each but they were supplied as a kit and i had to get them attached to the door frames (which i had) by someone who knew what they were ...

Re: The 'Off-Road' picture thread

Bit of fun this weekend. re-discovered how much fun haffys are in the snow but also found out just how bad they are at recovering 2.5tons of modern 4wd from a snowdrift - a total waste of time as the weight differential is just too great. Much shoveling and cursing required but job done eventually

Re: Polly Rebuild

Hi, I separated the centre tube out a few years ago (the central bearing was noisy which took a lot of tracking down) the details are blurry but I don't think that it was much of a problem, also had all the swinging arms out at some point but that was even longer ago. My experience is that the parts...

cylinder heads

Hi, Does anyone on here have a figure for the cubic capacity of haflinger cylinder heads ?? I'm rebuilding an engine with oversize pistons and could do with this figure to calculate compression. We can do it by building a head up with the valves and spark plug etc, sealing off the head and filling i...

Re: Rim Offset

This explanation from the guys that i sourced my wheels from Offset is stamped on a wheel as an ET value, which refers to the German phrase Einpress Tiefe. ET indicates the distance between the mounting surface and the geometric centre of the wheel (the symmetry axle), usually expressed in millimetr...

Re: Rim Offset

Pretty sure that the standard offset is around 33mm - after significant research a few years ago i ended up with a 4.5 x 13 with a 33mm offset and i was trying to get as close as possible to original except with a 13" rim

Re: BN4 heater?

Just to finish off the collection - an original petrol eberspacher heater inside and out. Obviously fueled from the main petrol tank so no need for a separate tank. This was supplied with the vehicle from new. Sadly no longer operational !

Re: Cold weather mods?

I've fitted 2 similar ones now. They are great but one of the the biggest challenge when fitting is where to site the diesel tank unless you can find a petrol version, also they can be a pretty significant drain on the battery if the engine isn't running.

Re: Wheels and Tyres

Hi Bill,

Sorry but as previous post, i shipped them all out months ago - shame as you're very local.

I have moved mine onto 13" rims which are much easier to source. I can give you the details if you want.

Re: non-centralising steering

Hmmm
Pretty much done all that and wondering if there's something else amiss.
All new wheels and tyres. Steering moves freely and tie in adjusted correctly. Still has no inclination at all to come back to centre

non-centralising steering

Has anybody else had the problem of a haflinger steering not centralising itself ? Everything looks OK, hubs loose, alignment OK, steering box is free and the steering all seems to be good, it just doesn't come back to centre. It's not really been driven since i bought it as it's undergone a major r...
