Re: lengthening the windshield

That is a great idea! I know Constantin Kiesling also deals with the top of his windshield frame impairing his vision. Would you mount the extension rigidly to either to nosepiece or the windshield frame or add a second set of hinges and clamps? A nice choice for vents could be those of the VW T2 Ba...

Re: Vehicle option mount

These units are the ones with the sliding shutter. The military units use a festoon-type bulb while those used by VW used a small socket-type bulb. http://www.expedition-imports.com/Gauges-Cab-Electrical_c_99.html Item #662 http://www.classiccult.com/vw-181-glove-box-light.html Hope this helps. Re: Vehicle option mount

It is the mount for the small Hella map light. Search Google Images either Pinzgauer or Unimog Map Light. Same style light VW used on their Typ 181 (but with different bulb configuration).

hope this helps.

Re: Modified Pathfinder on eBay

I had the good fortune to make contact with the current owner of the truck featured in the eBay auction. He has two very interested parties and will likely sell the truck within the next few days. The motor he chose to use produces 35hp SAE with the governor modified to intervene above 4000rpm. By m...

Re: Modified Pathfinder on eBay

Speaking of superchargers on Haflingers, one of those is believed to be the critical piece of equipment that allowed the 1961 Atacama Expedition to set the automotive altitude record. As far as turbochargers go, this in an interesting little clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x4gZrXxc-o There is...

Re: Modified Pathfinder on eBay

These new V twins do not have a very deep sump. Going on-line, I arbitrarily picked a set for drawing for a Kohler horizontal crankshaft V-twin. https://www.kohler-engine-parts.opeengines.com/images/CH980_drawings.jpg with more detail being found here: http://www.kohlerengines.com/onlinecatalog/prod...

Re: Modified Pathfinder on eBay

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TC8yYTXoZm4 Done correctly, I do not think the current crop of V-twin motors (both gasoline and diesel) would have no difficulty matching the performance of the standard S-P power plant. In the setting of an engine-less truck and the cost of finding an original motor ...

Modified Pathfinder on eBay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-Steyr-Puch-Haflinger-Pathfinder-700-AP-700-AP-/291768418926 Almost posted this in the Modifications section. Interesting alternate power plant. If someone on this forum dose take the plunge on this one, I would be very interested to see inside that engine bay. Tak...

Re: Doing some late night work on my jeep

To add to the fun, calculate the ratio of the Jeep's rolling tire diameter to its lowest ground clearance under the front and rear differentials. Then the ratio of the Haflinger's tire diameter to the ground clearances under the front skid plate and tubular rear engine/transaxle guard. Take care. Ji...

Thanks for the information. Do you know if John is on this forum? I can see clearly why one would be able to pick out this truck with ease.
Take care.

Re: Dutch Haflinger "Treffen" Mai 2016

Hello to all! Looks like a great turn out! In the photo of the Haflingers, what is the 7th truck to the left (just above the head of the red-headed boy)? Is it a PolyCab with some sort of tall front bumper overriders? We continue to work on our 703APK pop-top camper, I am always interested is what o...

Re: 4 door Haf

Julian, I have copies of what appears to be one of the most comprehensive operator's manuals. It covers eight different Haflinger models. There is a reference to the vehicle number being stamped on far right side in front of the right side seat and the typical number plate in front of the left side ...

Re: 4 door Haf

Dave, Thanks for sending the link! Amazing example of a well cared for Italian Haflinger. I am most interested in the gauge to the left of the driver's side defroster hose. It appears to be a clock with a sweep second hand on a small dial. A pair of adjusting knobs along the lower quadrants of the g...

Garry,
It is in the third photo. The poly cab and the soft top truck are nose-to-nose. Appears a large wooded crate bottom is leaning against the left side of the other truck.

Take care.

Re: Haflingerteffen Nordamerika 2016

There is no specific sign-up. There is no entry fee. When we decided to start this event, we wanted it to be as simple and stress-free as possible. We had been hosting Northwest MogFest for ten years and had most of the kinks ironed out. It take a lot of behind-the-scenes work by a lot of volunteers...

I think your best sources will be the European suppliers. We keep just enough to keep our personal trucks functioning and order as the need arises.

Take care.
