Re: Hemi the Haff.

Flywheel nut 24x1.5 = 32 to 34 mkp (Mkp can be converted using an online measurement converter) Looking at the Parts book - it lists 3 variations on the nut with pulley wheel. So, it depends on whether your engine has the auxillary gear (which I think means PTO) or not. Also having looked at the par...

Re: Haflinger Clearing Sale - Nowra NSW Australia

Looks too good to be stripped for parts - wouldn't take that much to make it a runner and then not much more to make it roadworthty I wouldn't have thought.

Re: The forum is not free to run BUT you access it for free!

Who's going to give up their cup of coffee money and donate it to the Hatflinger.com forum hosting fund? Could still do with a bit more money going in to the Kitty before christmas as that's when the hosting fees are due!

Re: hoods & doors

I notice the last one you posted a link to didn't have doors on it, but that doesn't always mean theare not available when you finally get to buy it. Some people when selling don't list the spares they have in the hopes that they can sell them seperately later. Please can you put a vague location in...

Re: Another UK e-bay Haf for sale

Those tyres would be very noisey on the road and probaby not very good in the wet on tarmac. So "On the road" should be taken with a pinch of salt. Front headlight are not original, not that it should mater if they actually give a reasonable amount of light. Only thing to watch out for wit...

Re: hoods & doors

There is at least one guy who makes canvas tops, doors etc in europe - I'll see if I can find his details. Probably expensive if for no other reason than shipping.

Do you have the metal work for the doors?

Re: Another UK e-bay Haf for sale

The lack of a V5 should not be too much of a hurddle to overcome. The engine number / Chassis number could be used to prove it's age. The Haflinger and Pinzgauer club UK could provide a suitable document for DVLA to issue a non-transferable age related plate. Make them an offer and see what happens?...

You can make two Haflingers from that lot! Hope you have room for them - They take up a lot more space when you take them apart!
Lucky you to find them at a price you could afford...

Another plea on your hard earned cash, I'm afraid. Please consider making a donation to the running cost of this forum by hitting the Donate button which is at the bottom of every page. Much as I would love to fund the Hosting fees and Domain registration fees without the need for donations, I am no...

Re: Hemi the Haff.

Hi Glen, Make sure you clean the surfaces on the crank case very well along with the surfaces of the rubber bungs on the oil return pipes as they are prone to leaking, especially if you haven't managed to torque the heads down correctly and then rechecked the torque settings after you have driven th...

Re: Hemi the Haff.

Certainly looks like a leak from the gear box input shaft. Could you tell by the fact tht you would have to put more oil into the Diff in order to get it back up to the level of the filler hole? In theory at least, the amount you took out of the Bell housing would match the amount you would have to ...

Re: The 'Off-Road' picture thread

Keeps most of the rain of the bed whilst Lurch lives outside. Tried it with the tarp flat across the back, but that just makes pools of water in the middle. So a light weight "A" frame means the water runs off. Still have to figure out how to seal it up against the fibre glass cab. Also ho...

Re: Trials at Sindon 17th June 2023

Turning circle has very little to do with Trials like this as the sections are laid out with the turning circles of short wheel base landrovers with four wheel drive engaged. A Haflinger can turn in the same curves more or less depending on whether diff locks are engaged or not. The real advantage i...

Trials at Sindon 17th June 2023

I took part in a pre 1984 trails against leaf sprung lamdrovers as there does not weem to be very many other pre 1984 offroad vehicles. Or atleast none in the south east that go to such things. Anyway, there were 8 sections during the day. These are 10 gate sections, so starting at 10 and working yo...

Re: Replacement Wiper Blades - Australia

Wiper arm are flat blades and most 1970's, 80's car have wiper blades with pin and hooks, BUT usually come with adapters to fit various types of arm including flat blade ones. Maybe the adapters will fit the Haflinger arms? I know that ould not be original, but at least you would have wipers again. ...
