Mystery Object

Most people who buy rarer vehicles are gifted boxes of spare parts and other bits and pieces. Included in my boxes of bits was this switch panel. I suspect it has nothing to do with Haflingers at it has 240v on the back of one of the "switches", unless my Haf at one time had a PTO and gene...

Re: Oil Filter

Di you manage to sort this issue out? I think the main issue was that the oil bath body has some double layer section where the parts are joined together and that you have one of these double layer areas touching the "U" shaped bracket on the side firewall and so it is "just" to...

Re: Wheel manufacturers?

My recently purchased Haf came with 4 mag wheels and one only original wheel. Has anyone found any wheels that fit a Haf that look period correct? Most Alfa/Fiat/Lancia steel wheels have too many non-essential holes in them for my liking. Some research tells me that Lada Samaria wheels might fit, an...

Re: fuses

I guessed that would be the case. Method 1 is too technical for me!! Method 2 is what I thought about trying as lots of non-original wires are under my dash. The trouble is every time I go out to my Haf, it wants to go for a drive, and so no research gets done!! Thanks for your help, John - I apprec...

Re: fuses

The different colours usually donate different fuse ratings. If you remove a fuse and look at it carefully it should have a number on it. That would be it’s rating. If you need to know what value you could put in a circuit - tell me what the circuit is running and the wattage. John Thanks, John - I...

Re: fuses

I found this thread while trying to find out what each fuse feeds. My non-original dash looks like at some stage it had two fuse boxes, but there is just one now. I have found that the blue fuse in my fusebox is for the wipers (while trying to get them to work !!). As for the rest, I have no idea wh...

Hey all, just put a post on another thread, quick intro, my name Adam from Dunsborough. Recently purchased 69 haf from Doug Lennox in qld. Haf is in bits, body good condition, have got motor running briefly, new fuel pump on way. Once motor running properly will pull out and check clutch, sort brak...

Re: Headlight Replacements.

Could the dynastart drive them for say a coupe of hours without flattening the battery? Depends on what load they draw - John has put up typical Haf load requirements somewhere recently so you would just need to work out what your load needs will be. Why not just one light bar mounted in front of t...

Has anyone investigated installing twin light bars either side of the front towing point. It looks like in there that they maybe reasonable protected by the bumperbar and the sloping front? John, canI suggest you start a new thread for topics which are really separate tasks? It is all very well adding to this thread about what you have done with your Haflinger today, but what you are doing could come under a new thread about restoration of your Haflinger. I think the original intentio...

Re: What did you do with your Haflinger today?

This afternoon, I went to help a friend move his collection of 60 cars, 200 tractors, 100 stationary engines and 3 prime movers to his new premises - what a job he has. So I ended up having to drive Haf home in the dark and impending storm, I definitely need to look at a headlight upgrade or some su...

Re: Wiper Motor

I thought I would have a go at my wipers today as they have never parked them selves. Dismantling the mechanical bit to take the wiper motor and bracket off the windscreen is just down to taking off two circlips and three 8mm bolts. Make sure you take a photo or label the wires going the motor obvi...

I've just finished de-greasing the RH rear of the engine/gearbox area in anticipation of my mechanic tackling the axle boot on that side. Hi John, Definitely a non standard addition to you Haflinger! You can keep it itbut if it is causing you issues when you put your foot on the clutch, you will have to re-locate it. Do you know what the wattage of your headlight bulbs are? It might have been put in to cope with higher than 35watt bu...
