Re: 1969 Halflinger for sale registered

would you part the 5 original tyres from the sale? are they in good condition? I'm only interested in the Semperit 165-12 "Universal-Grip" that look like this. http://tdc.haflinger-4wd.com/details_and-changes/wheels_and-brakes/bilder/little/tyres03.jpg Looking forward to your response. Tha...

Re: Upgraded Lighting

John, have a look at this website if it gives you any ideas for mounting. Its interesting that they have used polystyrene foam as the holder which would be easy to do. If you have a bug eye version 7"? they would have a kit that could fit with probably not to much hassle. http://www.theretrofit...

Re: Upgraded Lighting

I would love to see someone try out a Hi/Low HID H4 conversion that would be a simple upgrade for uses who need more light but want to keep the original look and not modify too much.

keep up the good work.

Absolutely superb job.

That has spurred me on again, although I've got a lot of work to get the platform up to your standard.

What paint did you use on the torque tube and suspension, I was planning to use POR 15?

Congrats

Stuart

I used por 15, really is top stuff!

crown wheel +diff

Hi. I have a crown wheel Inc. Diff in Sydney that I don't need and hopefully won't ever need... If anyone requires one let me know. I dont have the pinion so I'm not sure how practical it would be to use but if it helps someone.. . It would be a heavy item and as I don't live in Sydney anymore might...

Re: Rear Hub Race

I would use something that transfers the hammer taps to the entire face of the bearing. Like a peice of pipe. I would even think about putting the old bearing between the pipe and new bearing. If you are worried about then not being able to remove the sacrificial bearing use a 1mm cutting wheel and ...

Re: over 100 users registered on thehaflinger.com

I don't think there is a need to force people to post, there is loads of good information now online that people will use and it will grow with time. I'm happy when people can use this information to restore/maintain their haflingers. i know when I was restoring my haflinger I didn't have much spare...

PDFs are now permitted. We will try and have some sort of file system up and running in Feb next year.
For now please open a new topic and use a good subject to identify the content.

I look forward to seeing the documentation section grow.

Ahh yes. I forgot about that mark for the timing strobe. I stand corrected.

I sadly have not seen my Haflinger in 1 1/2 years and its getting a little vague.

Re: Dynastart struggles to turn.

I would say the wires you mentioned are as you said damaged from the sticking solenoid. Have a look online for DC electrical motor overhaul. This should detail how to check and clean the contact surface on the arbor. I would also check that the v belt isn't too tight as this can also cause the dynas...
