Re: Lurch has electrical issues
The process of elimination to find faults is very time consuming
and a lot of head scratching as well. But doesnt it feel good when you have
finally found the problem, hopefully you have.

Re: Setting up choke disc on Zenith carburettor
Hi Nigel,
I have a book of all the carburettors fitted to Steyr puch vehicles, which is printed in German.
I am part way through translating it to English, some of it is difficult to translate using google translate
This is one of the pages I have managed to do. I hope it helps

Re: spark plugs
I was still having problems with the spark plugs getting wet, when I didnt start the Haf for a few weeks. I checked the work shop manual and comparing the fuel level to the manual I found it was about 4mm too high. The floats are ok so I replaced the inlet valve, but when I re checked it was still t...

I got a service kit for the pump, which was easy to install. Then the hard part was fitting the pump back on the engine. The pump is spring loaded so when you fit it to the engine studs and the position of them, it is very difficult to get the washers and nuts started even when you turn the engine s...

Re: Engine V Belt Pulleys
I could never get my belts to tension correctly, they were either too tight so when I removed a shim they were loose.
I ended up getting some steel shimming sheets and made up a few spacers to make up the inbetween slack.

Re: weber pm 26
now to find replacement parts, I need (4) fuel filter, (10) diaphram, 22 & 23 gaskets.
I can probably get most of the parts but no4 I think I might struggle to get unless someone has a spare.

Re: weber pm 26
I have managed to remove the fuel pump with a crow foot wrench for the top nut and a short 11mm open end/ ring spanner.
I also stand corrected its not a webber pm26, it is a solex PE 15 080 made by alfred pierburg.

Im not getting any fuel through my weber fuel pump. Ive started to strip it down, removed the hoses, and the 5 screw bolts and found the top gasket needs replacing. I replaced everything on the fuel pump when I did the rebuild a few years ago. I think I will have to undo the 2 nuts that hold the pum...

Re: Reverse gear.
Hi gren_t, When I have previously set the linkage up, I have completly disconnected the 3 bolt flange on the gear rod and manually selected reverse with the short stub of the 3 bolt rod then confirm it is fully engaged in gear. I then put the gear lever in the reverse position and use a elastic stra...
