Re: Speedo cable
I feel very weary - I have just had my inner cable brake. Scotland can only sell me a complete (inner and outer) cable and I do NOT want to replace the outer. Is just an inner cable available anywhere these days?

2019 Bay to Birdwood
Later this month will see the running of the annual Bay to Birdwood car rally, Birdwood (South Australia) being the home of the National Motor Museum. This year, being the 60th anniversary of the Haflinger, will see at least 12 Haflingers taking part, gathering near Adelaide from all parts of the co...

Re: 82mm Bore & Pistons
Well if Haflinger Technik have the pistons I would be asking Dale (Haflinger Technik) about how much you can bore the standard barrels. If you are using the standard bored barrels and the 82mm high compression pistons, based on my experience, you will not have any issues elsewhere. The bottom end c...

Re: Oil Bath Air Filter
Hi Bob - I should have updated this thread. The issue I had with the oil filter must have been a false diagnosis and was in fact related to carby issues I was having at the time. I now have the proper Zenith carby on it and other issues sorted - I have the oil filter connected before paper filter a...

Re: What's the weakest point of a Haflinger?
My neighbour has a BMW 1100 twin and I have had a close look at it - the BMW flat twins will not go in as they have that huge chain gear arrangement that lives in the sump (which hangs down well below the engine) so if in a haflinger you will only get about 4" ground clearance and the sump wil...

Re: What's the weakest point of a Haflinger?
Although I don't have the mechanical or financial capability to do it, I'd love to see a Haf with a 650cc or so BMW aircooled flat two cylinder in the back - increased rev range would mean slightly higher top speed and more torque when you need it. I've seen pictures of the Kohler transplant, and ye...

Ben
I am compiling an up to date register of all known Hafs in Oz. Would you mind PM'ing me a photo of the ID plate on the body where the driver's seat would go?
Many thanks, and good luck with the resto.
Keep on Haffing

Re: Wheel nuts
I already have approx 30 wheelnuts to choose from!! My 60's rolling chassis has 2 per wheel, my latest (immobile) '74 model has a full set of 16, plus I have six spares. With another 10 used wheel nuts, I'm sure I could sort out the best 16 for my road-going Haf !!! LOL LOL
