Re: Sunday Drive
For those with an early Haf with 12" wheels and low speed hubs, I feel your pain  The great thing about driving a Haflinger is that you re-discover the joys of the open road. You never see anyone in front of you ... and so long as you don't look in the rear view mirror it is as if you wer...

Re: Choice of tire
Hi Angel, I have the same as your TYRE 1 fitted to my 1962 Haflinger, and they are "OK", but would be the first to admit that I don't do much / any serious off roading with them. Just by looking at your photos I would have expected the TYRE 2 to preform better, but I have no direct experie...

Re: Haffy on Ebay UK
I found the YoM from the Gov tax checker site. According to the tax checker it was manufactured in 1962. According to the MOT checker it was registered in 2015. Both are possible, but neither the fuel tank position nor shape is what I would expect from a 1962 Haf, nor are the (missing) side indicat...

Re: Haffy on Ebay UK
It did look very nice - but then anything with a fresh coat of olive drab can look nice in photos. The advert read very strangely - if you want upwards of GBP 9,000 for anything then surely it is in your interest to at least give basic details (year certainly, no of gears perhaps, mileage maybe). My...

Re: 5th and 6th Rear Facing Seats - LWB
OK, herewith some dreadful photos, but I was in a huge rush yesterday. The seat trays measure 415 x 320mm, with a 20mm "upstand" all around. On both sides are a flat piece of metal, perhaps 2-3mm up from the floor, in to which the seat pads are held. These metal bits measure 200 x 50mm. Th...

Re: 5th and 6th Rear Facing Seats - LWB
Herewith a poor photo of my 1972 LWB with the 5th & 6th seats.
I am due to be at my brother's tomorrow where it is currently kept and I could take some more photos if there is anything specific you want to see?

Re: West Australian haf registration
For a Haflinger - lights, horn, wipers, indicators, tyres, brakes, suspension and all the other usuals are all that should be required. Garry Back in my yoof I well remember my father's Haflinger failing an MOT for poor wiper blades. I removed the windscreen and re-presented it and they had to pass...

Re: Difference between Mk1 & Mk2
Other differences include type & shapes of lights, the fixed then removable front section (above the waistline), the introduction of rocker box openings in the engine compartment, different carbs, more gears, colour of wheels (&dashboard?), diameter of central backbone "tube". The ...

They are very hard to come by, and just as a word of warning, LHD and RHD front skid plates are different, so make sure you get the correct one if you find one.

Simon, I think this is the Parts Manual pages for the Webber carb. Re: Shuush The Little Haffies Are Sleeping
We are indeed living in a bubble. We are still allowed to drive anything, but Mr Plod might stop and question you to see if the trip is "essential". The list is pretty extensive, from going to food stores, pharmacies, to work, etc. I drove 30+ miles each way to do some work on my mother's ...

Re: Fulcrum pins
We removed mine but cutting a slot in a surplus "socket" and then dropping a square bit of metal in the slot (& tack welded it in). Sort of made a giant screwdriver head, and we were able to turn it with the normal socket set handle. Worked a treat

... hence as no fuel can get into the engine it will not continue to run except if the was a fuel charge already in the combustion chamber when that might ignite but once cleared no more fuel can get into the engine. Whilst an engine can't "run" backwards, presumably it can be "drive...

Hi Eddie(?), welcome to the forum. If you could put your location in your profile it might help in targeting replies etc. In my experience, most if not all mechanical items can be found - from places like Haflinger Technik in the UK or other suppliers in Europe - but body panels etc can be hard to f...

I have two as well - 36/75 green Swiss army - bought in 1996 for £78.30, and 36/75 beige civilian - bought in 1990 for £60.00. I am very fond of them.

Re: Weber 32ICS
I have a similar carb in my 1962 "pre" Series Haflinger over 10 years ago; on a run out in the Italian countryside near Hafling village it conked out & died. Very embarrassing. Turned out there was a pin hole in the float and it had sunk. Thankfully someone was there with a NOS replace...
