Re: Front Winch.
Hi Kerry, don't disagree with your comment, I use Century Deep Cycle batteries, have never failed me. Century's webpage lists them for a range of options including Marine, Industrial and 4wd. They provide a chart on Ah usage including for winches. I would be lucky to use a winch twice a year, when I...

Re: Fuel tank
G'day Rick, these are some photo's of my replacement tank. The sender unit is a spare I got off Tony in Melbourne. The thread on the sender unit required a M12 x 1.0 Tap as seen in the photo. On a lighter note, being an ex Roma Boy, GO THE MAROONS. Danny

Re: Fuel tank
G'day Rick, I had the same problem, took the rusted out one, to an Aluminium Fabricator and had a great polished copy made. Extremely happy with the tank. 2 issue's that I found, I needed a breather put in, and you need to have the correct tap put in for the fuel sender. Any questions just PM me. Da...

Re: Front Winch.
All good valid points guys, On my Hilux SR5 , I run a smittybuilt, amphibious 10,000 lb electric winch off the main battery No problems. I have a twin battery system controlled by a ARB RedArc control, the 2nd battery runs my inverter which charges my power tool batteries and gives me 240 volt and a...

Re: Front Winch.
I don't know how much power it would drain Yakov, would rarely use it without the engine running, but will find out anyway. Have been toying with the idea of a second battery, still need to think that out a bit more. Not worried about the weight Gary, last time I was out had 4 large lads in her and ...

Front Winch.
IMG_0191.JPG I wanted to put an ATV winch on the front of the Haffy, and went through a range of idea's and in the end came up with welding a support frame to the front bars of the bumper bar. My reasoning was that this was where it is held to the frame by two bolds either end. Moved the support fr...

Re: Sydney, Canberra region Treffen
Ok Rick, I'll take a pack of band-aids, I'm sure there's a spot in the haffy. I take Gary's point, we could always camp on a property in the area, I can fix that and trek through parts of the Clyde. Open to any suggestions? I run down to Araluen from Sydney with the Haffy in the trailer, takes about...

Well I'm not into standing around naked, holding hands, eating mung beans and doing the herbal tea, But Hot steaks , cold beer and a Bundy Rum sure sounds good to me. Just need to make sure all the Haffies are fitted with the drop bear whistles, as my first aid skills involve , bullet to the head.

Hey Rick, totally agree with you, other than a stunt over there on exchange when I was in the Army, don't go near the stuff. Have been told by good sources though, don't eat yellow coloured snow.

Sydney, Canberra region Treffen
Hi guys, have been speaking to Gary in Canberra about this and thought I'd put this up to any members who may be interested. Definitely nothing set in stone, however am looking at organising a 3 to 4 day treffen down the southern highlands. Would look at starting off from Braidwood, heritage listed ...

Re: Newbie from N. Ireland
Hi Tinkerer, great looking Haffy, appears to be in really good condition. Does it start and drive. You see some doors down here and certainly I have a set ,but generally most run without the doors. Are there spare seats in the back?. Good Luck. Danny
