Yep, these are the thin brass(?) plated twin floats. Previously soldered, but over the years the flexing of the floats has cracked the metal for a couple of millimeters on each side of the central hold. I'm pretty sure once I clean them I can get a good joint on them. Might have to make a copper fix...

I'll have to dig into this soon too....on the other oil bath filters I've had, they've always said wash with gasoline, but I can't see any issues with using a lighter, higher flash cleaner like carb spray. Or just wash them out with diesel, that works fine too.
