John

I have cut off the whole platform top and have A large box of sections that may yield the ribbing you require to repair the lids

Any use?

John

Have you thought about a solar panel on the roof that continuously trickles the battery in daylight hours

Maplins do one for under £20

I had one on my Landrover and it always maintained the battery

Re: What did you do with your Haflinger today?

Whilst sorting out spares and parts I chanced upon the old handbrake and the new lever I got a while ago. So a quick rebuild was undertaken. The old one was damaged and the pawl did not hold, all OK now. Just need to touch up the paint and pack it away.

Dave,

Another useful work instruction!!!

WD40 is also very useful for tarting up hoses and other under bonnet plastic parts, just keep it off the fan belts!

Looks like all had a really good time.

The eye balls are more in keeping than those on the Dr. Who Haflinger

Re: Pathfinder Nameplate and filter housing (tuning) on ebay

Does the welding/brazing on the oil pressure gauge look lumpy? Maybe it's just the way I am looking at it.

i.e is it original or a mod?

Engine numbers

Sorting out the engines I have following collecting a poor condition rolling chassis in three parts last week. The engines I have are numbered 536 xxxx and are the 650cc Haflinger ones (x2), and the 526 xxxx are the Invacar 500cc version(x3). What is a mystery is that I have a 650cc one with no engi...

Re: Haflinger on Gumtree 1962

£3,500 ish, seems pretty reasonable if its as good 'below' as outwardly.
Doesn't look too bad but a good look would be worthwhile.
A bit far for me though!

Re: Cleaning nuts and bolts on mass

We are in a little hamlet near Linac on the Latronquiere road between Figeac and Bagnac-sur-Célé.

On the edge of Quercy and Cantal border, a lovely part of France, with lots of 'green lanes' around. If I finish the Haffy before they sell up I'll take it over.

Re: Cleaning nuts and bolts on mass

Big match tomorrow night against the noisy neighbours. Spent the last 25 summers near Figeac where my parents have a small house up in the hills, so know the wines and food in that part of France intimately! I used to work in Lyon, Paris and Blois so have spent some time in France over the past few ...

Re: Cleaning nuts and bolts on mass

Doug, As you are in the lovely Lot et Garonne how about a trip to the local Intermarche/Le Clerc for some Acetone, Cellulose thinners and/or Essence F? Put them in a sealed container in the boot of the car and as you drive around they will self clean. They should do the job, If not there's always su...

Re: Gearbox re-build

May well be worth a chat with Dale up at Haflingertechnik.

There is some info on the various forums about rebuilds.

Hopefully it's just bearings and bushes and not too serious. Have you tried any of the additives for the transmission oils?
