Re: rego numbers

Something with HAF in it. Everything else is really obscure unless you bump into another haf owner.

Edit... probably HAF703

Re: Rear vision Mirror

One I just bought of ebay (from India). The arm is at the correct angle for a haflinger. Just drilled and screwed into the windscreen frame.

Re: Dash pod for extra gauges

All the extra gauges I installed are "marine" ones off ebay. Wema / KUS brand which are pretty cheap. You can see the gauge on their US site http://wemausa.3dcartstores.com/Oil-Pressure-Gauge_p_86.html The pack I bought came with the sender. But dual output senders are on ebay by themselve...

Re: Dash pod for extra gauges

Good point. I was thinking of running rubber strips on the body but some sort of terminal cover would look neater.

Re: fuel tank, resto or not..

I used a fuel tank resoration kit. I think I bought the sample pack plus a can of the fuel tank restorer and that was enought to do both inside and out

Re: Dash pod for extra gauges

Here's what I did for the sender.
10mm banjo <-> 10mm - 1/8th adapter <-> sender.

The sender has two outputs - one for the gauge and one for the dash red light.

Re: Dash pod for extra gauges

I'm just measuring pressure. The sender has both pressure and low pressure signals but is quite tall and would probably foul on the distributor. I bought a M10 banjo bolt 90 degree adaptor and 1/8th adaptor. Then the sender should fit horizontally. That's the plan at least.

Dash pod for extra gauges

I didn't want to cut holes in my new dash for some extra gauges so I made a small pod. All wired up apart from installing the new oil sender on the engine. Re: My Hafy project is complete

That looks really tidy! Perhaps you might want to adjust the position of your windscreen wipers at rest. If you rotate one of the little arms on the inside so it is upside down(?) compared to the other side then at rest you have both wipers in the down position. When you turn the wipers on then both...

Re: Sydney meet and great

Mine is not drive-able yet but anyway unfortunately the date clashes with the annual DSMRA Kowen Forest Ride (dirt biking). There's about 100km of single track calling :)

Enjoy the meet. Take photos!

No pattern. It's an original canvas with a patch using some ebay canvas.

Re: Another Canberra Haflinger

Matt - It is looking good - how is your Dad? It looks as if you are going for a truck cab rather than a full canopy. Garry He's well and done all the work to make the haf look this good. The original full canopy and frame was a local Australian mod I think. The short cab is now all factory hardware...
