Re: Electronic Ignition

Points are crap! I have installed at least 5 Haflinger Pertronix units and they work great(all 3 distributor types) :!: I usually use a timing light to re set timing after measuring and scribing or painting a mark at 7MM before TDC. Mine has been trouble free for the last 2 yrs, unit has 3 yr warran...

Re: WANTED: Semperit 165-12 "Universal-Grip"

Why the heavy Semprit's ? They are as bad as the Maloya's for rolling effort. I see a fair share of Haflingers for repairs and pushing one with those tires takes twice the effort as a street or snow tire. That stated, I have personally seen(in the US) newer 165 12 Maloyas recently available. Out her...

Re: UK "Road Tax"

Gee, in the states we just shop online to get insurance, is the UK that far behind the times? My Hagardy policy is only $118 USD per year and I can drive up to 2400 miles a year :!:

Re: Haflinger type BN2 Heater info/pics

This VW BN2 Heater repair booklet (pdf attached)has all the needed info to understand how everything works and how it is adjusted, serviced.
While it is a VW version, it is close enough to do diagnostic and repair of Haflinger version.

Haflinger type BN2 Heater info/pics

Posting this here as well as another Haflinger forum as I go through my own heater. I created my own accurate Schema using a photoshopped image and adding in the proper details. All the units I have seen in Haflingers are early type BN2. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v510/Goatwerks/Haflinger%20B...

BN2 Heaters

I am thinking about posting up some BN2 heater rebuild info (with pictures) but cannot decide which section to post to: Body, Electrical, or Modifications. Any input from moderator or group?
Currently going through mine and compiling images and tech info as I go :ugeek:

Re: 5 speed gearboxes

N/A models(Pathfinder) are 44mph as placarded(70.8Kmh), but easily hit 50-53mph @4800rpm (or 80Kmh on 12" wheels).

Re: Oil Filter Cannister

You have to have the spin on type filter adapter to use the spin on filter, they do not fit cartridge type filter casting.

Re: Wiper Motor

Steyr used a 2 speed 67VW wiper motor and switch(rotary) on the N/A spec units. I have found them on all US and Canadian spec models built after 2-70 that I have seen or repaired over the years.
I got lucky and found a spare in the wrecking yard to repair mine .
Good hunting!

You buy the mentioned assembly to save $$$, and the ends were correct. You throw away the new tube, and re use your original tube ;)
