Re: Engine rebuild in Sydney Australia

Have done most of the engine rebuild, quite fun actually. Must say it has been an adventure getting all the engine parts from around the world. Cylinders pistons and rings, push rods, con rods and distributor cap from Ebay de, from all different sellers. Bearings, clutch, crankshaft, seals, values a...

Re: 12" wheels and 2 or 3 Semperet Universal Grips - SE Aust

I have 4 that have no holes in them, lots of tread but some slight cracking on the side walls . Have kept them to use if I was going into the paddocks and hills. IF you want them give me a Pm,...

Re: 1974 Apt700 for sale

John, from my time in the services. All British armoured vehicles seem to have engine's put in the smallest space available. I actually thought it was a competition to see if a hand could actually fit. I think in hindsight after being on exchanges over there, it was to keep the engine as warm as pos...

I have just had an aluminium copy made, would that need an internal coat as well? Wouldn't think so but interested in opinions, regards Danny.

Re: 1974 Apt700 for sale

Brad just noticed the Ferrets, great fun, have worked on them and driven for displays , parades etc, when I was in Armoured corps. Just a question, how do you cope with the blood loss working on the engines. Danny

Re: 1974 Apt700 for sale

Sure , only made it out of a couple of cheap trollies from Bunnings and some left over steel. Just cut the verticals at the same angles as the mounting points for the undercarriage. Just lets me push it back and forth and get underneath. Danny

Re: Seats

Actually Doug, I'm ex Cavalry. My Dad was old school 3RAR in the 50's. I was in the same brigade at the headquarters and put in to do my Dive Masters course and got a Para course instead, good old Australian army logic. Anyway did a lot with 3RAR and in the process did my back which ended my days co...

Re: Seats

Gary, just a thought. Why not modify another seat frame to the correct angle for back, pad it to your needs. Its only a few cuts and welds. Your not modifying the vehicle just the seat frame, easy to take on and off. It is a task I am wanting to do myself as I have had to many bad Parachute jumps fr...

Re: Rear vision Mirror

Things to consider, fortunately I have made my canopy, but have not put a clear window and flap in the back yet. perhaps a clamp over the middle loop in the windscreen frame, made at 90 degree's, padded and bolted together to form a mounting platform.

Re: Rear vision Mirror

I think I will go the line of making a metal extension bracket that fits onto the existing bolts/nuts of the windscreen wiper motor. It's already centred. I'll go up 4 to 6 cms and then slightly forward, nothing bulky and fit an older type English rear vision mirror like those fitted to dashs of the...

Rear vision Mirror

Hi all, A question for those in Australia who have full registration. I have just made a canvas canopy and am looking at sewing in a clear rear flap. Whilst this of itself is not a problem, and I would make it so it could roll up. My question is. (a) I cannot find an area for a rear vision mirror to...

I am also assuming that the Green and White colours as well as the shape of the shield are there to represent the backgrounds and shape of the Crest granted in 1959 (1930?) for Steyr.
