Re: The 'Off-Road' picture thread

take the tow ball out of the coupling .
put the largest rated bow shackle into its place .
and attatch to it
may not be perfect , but a bloody big amount better than a tow ball.

it is late , so i am tired .

Re: The 'Off-Road' picture thread

G,,day . i may not put this in the best . or polite words . it scares the shit out of me when i see people doing a recovery using a tow ball as an attatchment point . they are not designed for huge loads . there have been a number of deaths and injuries from using a tow ball . please use correct / r...

Re: 12" Road Legal Tyres (Again) - What are the Mayolas Like

Gary , i just looked at a rim , it is not for tubeless . it is not a safety rim .
from the outside you should be able to see a groove which is the lump / lip that keeps the bead sealed against the rim .

there may have been safety rims , i have not seen one , but they may exist .

cheers

Re: Rear wheel brake cylinder applications

G,,day as has been mentioned , large diameter in the front .
small in the rear .
or you will suffer some nasty things when empty .
this will present itself as the back end passing the front end .
not nice unless you want to do it as in a handbrake turn . ala rally car .

Re: So what are you folks using for transmission gear oil no

i just checked ,
factory specs
hypoid SAE 90
gearbox , hubs and front diff .

i know the specs on VMX 80 , as my G Wagen requires straight gear oil for the synchromesh transfer case , VMX 80 is the easiest to get
