Re: Gearbox Dipstick - Original or Modified
In following your line of thought John, I'm assuming it was there for those that had the PTO drive fitted so that it was a quick way to check your oil level. Re: Gearbox Dipstick - Original or Modified
I sent this to Gary, as I was blooding my knuckles working on this Haffy, this is on my 2nd Haffy. Its a 5 speed, 1970 anti friction ( Australia, Melbourne) build. My other 1974 Haffy does not have one. Like everyone else, I wonder at the over engineering. Danny

Re: Canvas Top
4138058[1].jpg So I have 2 haffy's and made a single cab canvas top that works well, but I was looking for something for the entire length. I came into possession of the canvas cover for the Australian Army 4 wheeled trailer (Haulmark). I'm not really into my haffy being all original but wanted to ...

Notice the large pulley for the governor though, Tony from Melbourne sent me one. Told me that they were for Haffie's fitted with the PTO so they cut down the rev's even more. Danny

Looks like someone lent a loaded rifle up under a haffie, Imagine the head that would roll if you did that in the Army. Don't change it Rick, great history. danny

Re: Engine rebuild in Sydney Australia
Just wanted to add a comment to those out there rebuilding an engine, my biggest concern was the right hand cylinder head. The head was in great condition bar the spark plug thread, it had been retapped, enlarged then a helicoil had been fitted incorrectly and there was no option of putting in an in...

Well Rick, we most likely ran into each other as I was 4 Cav in the 80"s and spent most of my time in Mortar tracks. I redid my seats not that long ago so if your short some parts PM me and I'll see if I have spare parts for you. Always good to hear old and bold stories makes you forget all you...

Come on Gary, you could fix this or try and make a 6x6, I thought the dip switch on the dash was innovative. Danny
