Re: Rear Number plate lights
Been doing a bit more digging. It seems that there are two versions, ZKW which is the one I have in bits, and for Germany and Italy the hella one. May 1969 parts book. So I'll see what turns up. Suppose either can be used? I need to get two so I can get the rear stiffener drilled and riv nutted befo...

Rear Number plate lights
The only one I have is damaged but made by ZKW, the part number on the righthand side of the lens is M1279A and A2028 on the left. Does anyone know any other vehicles they were used on? Hopefully VW as I am going to a show tomorrow, and there will be a VW auto jumble so hopefully a good hunting grou...

John,
How did you get on with your journey, or are you at the Chiropractor?
How did Lurch perform,
Julian,
Great pictures, looks like a good time was being had by all. Bet you had the sparkliest Haffy there!

John,
Looked at the polycabs as well, will be after the good one as long as price is sensible.

Re: Spotted on Ebay - carbys
John,
I need a manifold, the Zenith NDIX, rear one.
I've got the carbs, engine but no manifold yet.
FYI all, the postage costs to Australia have halved recently with Parcel to go etc, not however Parcel Farce.

Re: How to remove the retaining caps on the 4WD and diff lev
Julian, That's it exactly. I had looked at the parts book and thought that was the was, but to seek advice from one who has done the job is always the path of least resistance, and less broken parts! Thanks for the info, the work seems to get bigger every-time I make progress, left side done so over...

How to remove the retaining caps on the 4WD and diff levers
I can see from the parts breakdown that there is a locking pin on the rings. What is the best way of removing them and causing the least possible damage?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Upgraded Lighting
All head lights are homologated as per the E mark on the lens, if not then illegal in the UK. Bulbs should also be E marked as well. It is not OK to put H4 bulbs into the tungsten lamps. The filaments are incorrectly aligned for the photo-metrics on the lens and cause dangerous dazzle for oncoming r...

Really like that idea, full plexiglass doors, fitted to original frames. Last Summer we re-roofed our Lions club Catering van, and we used a large sheet of plexiglass, ordered from a cycle/bush shelter supplier. Next day delivery, if you want the details I can get them great stuff. It can be cut wit...

Re: My Restoration Project
John, The foot wells are welded to the centre spine first, and then the rear deck, under seat panel then the filler between the two foot wells are added. I thought that the original panel; could have been reused however on cleaning up for welding I discovered that the tin worm had been more active t...

Re: My Restoration Project
Making progress, right hand rear footwell was installed today.
Left hand one also spot welded together and ready for installation.
Next bit cleared for action.
This may take a wee bit longer than the footwell

Re: Adjusting shift linkage
Thanks for advice.
I'll mark it all up to give me a starting point.
As I am replacing the whole footwell assembly I'll have to try and get the new one as close to the original point as possible!
