Re: Engine Governor
I have decided to not refit the Governer to the Haf but rather fit a tacho. Can anyone recommend a particular tachometer and the recommended process for installation. Not having a traditional alternator I am too sure the best route. Also, I am about to fit a fuel gauge so any advice on fitting and t...

Re: Another OIL thread! No, it's not what you think!
Thanks Kerry,
Is there a recommended size (diameter) for the earth strap/ cable)?
Also if you still have the two cabin hood bars that you had I am still interested. I will be in Sydney in early April so would get you to post to an address there.
Cheers

Re: Stainless Exhaust Manifolds
John,
I was of course, talking in jest but I do know what you mean. I am so glad I took the platform off to do the rust, I was comvinced that any money spent anywhere else was a potential waste of money without first fixing what couldn't be seen.

Re: Stainless Exhaust Manifolds
John, Are you sure you talking about a Haflinger and not a 1970's Lancia. How can something so small have so much rust? God help the rest of us. Note to self; buy shares in Waxoil. I have, I think, a complete exhaust system for a heat exchanger version ( I have ditched the heater and gone for simpli...

Rear seat doors/lids
Can any one help me. Are the hinges for the rear seat doors/lids welded on top or below the panel?

Re: Canvas Covers, Hoops Etc
Great idea about getting some measurements. We could then supply these to a hood stick manufacturer who could quote. in the meantime I have a LWB full tilt ( full back) in B+ condition that I am going to get shortened by 300mm. Before i do does anyone have a full SWB tilt that they would want to swap?

Re: Alternative seat webbing
thanks for that John, I note that they also sell fixing hooks as well as webbing and fixing staples and bases. I don't supose by any chance that these will fit the Haf seats. Given the price that would be a big bonus. Just checked my rear seats and they only have holes for hooks for the backs. I gue...

Re: Alternative seat webbing
Evening All, Can anyone let me know the exact number of rubber straps and seat hooks that go into each of the front seats? If I have understood the parts book correctly it looks like a total of 11 straps per seat and 22 hooks. This seems ridiculous. I would go and count the number of holes in my fra...

Re: Ideas for cleaning out the fuel tank
The product called slosh that I am about to use has two components. The first claims to remove any existing sealants and the second is a resealer. It claims to be safe with ethanol. Check out ebay.

HT leads
Ok, I have been an idiot again and forgotten to label my HT leads and distributor cap. Does the HT lead on the left hand side of the distributor cap (from back facing forward) go to the LEft hand cylinder head or the other way?

Re: Classic vehicle show near Paris (France)
Why not, sounds like a good deadline (although I think I will be sorted this Xmas). May 24 if my French is working correctly. The only potential trouble i see is getting the French historic vehicle certificate I have, transferred from the previous owner (sadly deceased) into my name so I can get num...

Re: Haflinger windscreen supports (pair) needed.
Hi Garry,
Thanks for the photos, very, very useful. I did check out Haflinger Technic but alas they have none.
How is the old ACT? I use to have to go to Canberra quite often to meet various Federal Govt advertising committee members. I lived in Sydney from 1986 until 2009.
Cheers

Cheers Julian, have managed to get it in place, but I can not say I am totally happy with it. I see you have a differnt type of reservoir with a screw fitting.
