WTB: Haflinger (USA) - (FOUND)

Post by cahafi »

I’m looking to add another Haflinger to the fleet.

Looking for one that is not a major restoration project, but does needs some work. I have completed everything on my list for the 1973 703 AP/3 and have enjoyed the process. My daughter (13) has expressed interest in learning/helping on the next project, she drove the poly cab around last weekend (we survived :o ), feel this would be a great option.

Please let me know if you have something that meets the above or a lead on one.

Located in California

Thank you

I assume you are looking for one in America or are you prepared to import one from somewhere else in the world? have you posted any picture of your "restoration" or of the now road worthy Haf being driven? I can't remember.

It is always nice to see the younger generations being interested in some thing old. It happens less and less nowadays as everything is thrown away if it breaks rather then being kept and repaired.

Have you hit the "DONATE" button at the bottom of the page after reading this post? Many thanks if you have!!

John,

Hoping for something in the states.

I haven't posted many pictures, as I never really take any. The best I have is a Holiday card from a year ago.

Purchased the Haflinger a few years ago, it had good bones, but needed a lot of work.

Short List
- New Brakes - top to bottom
- New wiring - marine grade from fuse panel - out.
- New clutch/bearing
- Motor cleaned, sealed, painted covers, etc.
- Electronic ignition
- Electrical Fuel pump
- Re-fiberglassed the original headlight buckets back into it with proper wiring/brackets (had LED truck lights and they cut the buckets out)
- Welded a front bumper and added winch, more for looks, won on eBay way cheap
- Welded/fabricated rear canopy with cover

I'll try to get some more pictures.

Agreed, I grew up working on cars every weekend with my dad. Hope to pass along some information to her.

I would love a Polycab - something we never really got in Australia so are very rare here.
