5th and 6th Rear Facing Seats - LWB

Post by cahafi »

I'm actively looking for the 5th and 6th rear facing folding seats for a LWB Haflinger.

Any condition, if you happen to have a set even pictures would be great.

Thank you

I think you will probably have to make some as I have not seen any up for sale since I have had my Haf (also so a LWB). I will post some pictures I took of the seats later today. Pictures are not on this particular computer.

Have you hit the "DONATE" button at the bottom of the page after reading this post? Many thanks if you have!!

John, thank you. That is what I figured, they seem like an option not many folks purchased.

Pictures would be amazing.

Have a great day.

Herewith a poor photo of my 1972 LWB with the 5th & 6th seats.

I am due to be at my brother's tomorrow where it is currently kept and I could take some more photos if there is anything specific you want to see?

If you could take pictures of them opened, hinges, etc.

Also fold down tray measurements. Thank you for the help.

OK, herewith some dreadful photos, but I was in a huge rush yesterday.

The seat trays measure 415 x 320mm, with a 20mm "upstand" all around. On both sides are a flat piece of metal, perhaps 2-3mm up from the floor, in to which the seat pads are held. These metal bits measure 200 x 50mm.

The triangles at the base of the seat backs measure 120mm horizontally & 80mm vertically.

The seat back tubes are made out of (approx) 22mm diameter tubing. The max height from the load bed is 380mm. The "lug" that forms the "hinge" between the seat base and back is 10mm diameter.

The seat pad has a contour across the underside of the front (to go over the front edge of the seat tray. There is an indentation at the rear, but for now I can't remember what that is for. Perhaps so that it would also work for the Seats 3 & 4? There are two strips of fabric which slot over / under the bits of metal welded to the tray (as described above).

All E&OE ;)

I have been trying to get the 2 back rest frames made for the 5/6 seats. I have a 3/4 seat frame as an template, after visiting about 8 engineering shops and exhaust/silencer shops, they all tell me that the top bends are too tight as there formers will not bend that tight and that if they sand fill/ heat bend the tube will kink. has any one any suggestions as to how and where I could have some bent. I live in Cairns, Australia. I may be open to international suppliers but I will have to take shipping costs into consideration.
