Does not work like that - has to be a trip with the Club the the vehicle is registered through.

Wow Gary, your reg system sounds like a real downer! Fancy limiting your use to a 40km radius of where you live.. Surely a limited mileage type reg which allows a certain number of KM’s a year anywhere in Australia would be a better bet.

Can’t you change it so you can at least trailer your Haf place and then drive around a bit?

Club Registration is 1/11th the cost of normal registration - so 57 pounds per year compared to 670 pounds per year so for a limited use vehicle like the haflinger is very worthwhile.

If I am on a Club event I can drive anywhere in the country, but otherwise maintenance and test runs within 40km of home. This is fine, I can get to the snow, I can get into the mountains, I can cover all the city and I can get to a few nearby country towns so is fine. I cover about 3000km a year in my Haflinger and all the local coffee shops and Maccas know me and the Haflinger very well.

Yes I can pay full rego and drive where I want, but 99% of the time it will still be within about 40km of home.

What if like me, you were in more than one car club - would that means that you could not go on an official club run with a club other than the one one your concessional rego was organised through?

The registration is associated with one club but the registrar can approve trips with other clubs that are affiliated with the Council of ACT Motor Clubs.
