Hello
Yesterday I attended a gathering of military vehicles and the firing up of two WWII era searchlights for the anniversary of a Japanese midget submarine raid on Sydney Harbour in 1942. It was held at the North Head Fort on the nothern Headland of Sydney Harbour, where an artillery unit was based until recently. It was cloudy and rainy first day of winter. This meant the searchlight beams could not go very high, but were spectacular in the rain. See photos below.
Cheers
Rick

Re: Manly Searchlight Outing
Hi Rick - I was up your way yesterday picking up some 13" Alfa rims from Macquarie Fair for my Haffie - if I had realised the searchlight outing was on I would have delayed coming back and went over to North Head for a lookie see.
Nice pics - the Haffie fits in well and really looks the part.
