Looks good, is it working? Or will it need lots of TLC, actually - even if it is working it is going to need lots of TLC!!!

John

Brakes appear to be a common issue. I wonder if it is always the same bits? On mine it started out being the master cylinder (seized), then wheel cylinder(s) - I replaced them all as two were leaking and the other two looked ropey. Then because of the leaking I replaced the brake shoes.
Finally, when the brakes still refused to work well enough for the MOT I replaced the flexible hoses. Things started working then!

I have to agree that they are not the best brakes in a vehicle I have ever used - I noticed in the parts book that there is a different braking system listed. Any body know about that?

John,
I have seen both a single circuit system alone as well as a single circuit sytem with a vacuum booster(on a 703APK truck). The manual lists two additional sytems: Dual circuit systems without and with vacuum booster. I have never had the good fortune to examine either of the dual circuit systems in person nor do I know just how many trucks were produced using either of these variations.

Take care.

Matt - It is looking good - how is your Dad?

It looks as if you are going for a truck cab rather than a full canopy.

He's well and done all the work to make the haf look this good.
The original full canopy and frame was a local Australian mod I think. The short cab is now all factory hardware. The tray has rear seats and I'll probably get a matching canvas cover made for the rear.

Yes your Dad seemed pretty dedicated to getting it all right.

Where did you get your canvas made/purchased from? I really need to get a new top for mine.

Cheers

No pattern. It's an original canvas with a patch using some ebay canvas.

A little bird told me that there is a dismantled Haflinger to be auctioned at Pickles in Canberra this month - are these your left over bits.

I checked with Pickles but they know nothing about it.

I need SWB tray side and rear sideboards - mine are good but not original. A tow bar would also be handy.

Matt

Love your doors - are they factory, or did you have them made?

Both the metal and the fibreglass doors are local "factory" options as I believe they were manufactured in Melbourne and sold as options. If anyone has an Australian price list....
