Steering Tie Rod ends replacements

The left hand front tie rod ball joint on Lurch has some play in it. I would like to change it before it gets too bad. Anyone got a current make / part number for it? I believe it is a left hand thread on the adjuster link.

Looks like he bought the complete link with two ball joints and then had to cut a piece off and tap a new thread into the tube - seems an awful lot of work when all I want to do is replace one ball joint.... I wonder if the thread on that Merc ball joint is the same as the original? It would also have to be the left handed thread.

I will see how much the local Merc place wants for link when I get the chance.

Thanks,

John

You buy the mentioned assembly to save $$$, and the ends were correct. You throw away the new tube, and re use your original tube ;)

I take it that the threads on the new ends are the same as the Haflinger then? If that's the case, I shall order the part as soon as I find a suitable supplier.

Many thanks for the information & help!

John

Being kinda new to this Haflinger business, who is Dale, and what is in Scotland? Thanks!

Scotland is Haflinger Technik http://www.haflingertechnik.com/html/index.php

I believe that Dale owns the business (could be wrong on that) and is the person many people deal with when ordering parts. I have always dealt with John Hamilton who has provided me with great service.

In general I have found Haflinger Technik to be a bit cheaper than the Austrian suppliers.
