Are you asking about a spin-on upgrade?

My Hafi is still the old type and Napa 1314 works in my canister. Do you have NAPA auto parts stores over there?

I believe Jim Molloy suggested that replacement number, as well as Mann H 601 and
Mahle OX 42. A search for those numbers here on the forum should show original recommendation.

(These are not the spin-on type.)

You have to have the spin on type filter adapter to use the spin on filter, they do not fit cartridge type filter casting.

I have a CROSS 573 spin on oil filter fitted to Lurch.

The fitting on crankcase is different between the paper cartridge in a holder and the spin on filter type.

The spin-oin oil filter was fitted to late 1973 and 1974 years of make...
The spin-on version is hence a bit more rare and also sought after, because there exist standard adapters which fit between the filter and the main device, where you can fit additional sensors, e.g. for oil pressure or oil temperature.

Kind regards,

Like this:-
oil filter sensor adapter.jpg
Oil pressure is the big sensor, Oil temperature is the little sensor.

Both the DHSS engines I have use the spin on filter housing. I'll be using one on the engine I build for the Resto.
