Restoring metal parts for my Haflingers with my Hydroblaster. Does not damage or pit metal at all. Aluminium comes up brand new. Let me know if anyone wants any parts restored

Bernard,

Looks good, Where does one get a Hydroblaster? Is this another name for a pressure washer?

Hey Bernard,
Looks like a job well done. Where abouts in Australia are you?

I live in Colac Victoria. The Hydroblaster is a combination of water, glass bead and compressed air. I also add a rust inhibitor. The machines are quite expensive, $15000 for a very small one going up in price, my size Hydroblaster would be around $200000AU. I have been restoring vehicles for over 35 years and have never come across anything that will do the same job. The water acts as a cushion for the glass bead so it does not pit or impregnate the metal. You can take the varnish off printed circuit boards to repaire the circuits without doing any damage to solder lines or anything else. The finshed job on aluminium or metal actually looks like it has been painted with silver paint. I use the the Hydroblaster for my own restorations and also do outside work. Most people either send parts to me by mail or courier

Yes it does do a very good job. The finished product won't get stains from finger prints like dry blasting does.

Hi Bernard,

I was just working down at Colac for 5 days with the level crossing accident nearby.
Next time I'm down your way I should call in and say hello.

I have heard about bead blasting but never thought it was so dear. I think I will stick to soda blasting.

It will get dirty again Gary but is nice to assemble a vehicle with the parts clean and free of any contamination. It also peens the materials which makes it not so pourous which makes it a lot easier too keep clean

Awesome finish on those parts. I reckon you might get some interest from people building cafe racers.
