Interesting engine - not sure it is much as an advantage over a Haflinger engine as the VW does not rev more than a Haflinger engine so top speed will not change - however I bet it does not die on hills like a haflinger engine.
That air filter would be a killer in Australia and the engine would soon be dusted with gazed bores in our dust.
