Hi I also visit the Real 4x4 Forum at http://real4x4forums.com like many of you also do.

For a few days I have been having troubles there, where the site will not let me do anything - including sending PMs to the site admin - Vince Sweeny - VinceAtReal4x4s.

As I cannot send anything on the Real 4x4 Forum I was hoping he may have been here so I could message him but I do not see him on the membership list.

So if anyone has a private email for Vince, could you please sent it to me please - for privacy reasons via PM would be preferred.

I presume I am getting the same error that you have been receiving, A PHP error everytime you try and submit the message.

Have you tried just posting a new thread with a request for Vince to contact you via PM?

Every spammer in the world already has that email address so no need to delete

I cannot post anything on the Real 4x4 thread - it always says I have not put in enough words etc even with a few paragraphs - once it said I needed for than 60,000 characters to post.

As I cannot communicate in any form on that forum, that is why I put up the request here. So looks like I am not the only one with issues. Maybe the spammers got to the forum.

I'll try putting a post up and see what happens. If it is a global error, then I am sure Vince will pick it up and do something.

Funny as I have noticed the last couple days zero posts and after 2-3days that’s weird for that forum but I just figured it was a slow time

Yes the only one I saw was about the bronze 716 camper in Aust - I tried to respond that it had been up for sale for a long time and was also on ebay with no takers - I typed in the relevant text and put in the long ebay link but the system would not let me post as I did not have enough text - about 3 paragraphs - tried to PM Vince and the same - so cannot post or send messages on there.

Your problem is similar to what I was having at the start. Maybe it has been hit with a virus or something.

Vince is having his hosting provider look at it.
I check with the guys over at the phpBB forum and they say that it appears to be running phpBB version 3.0.x (for which support is no longer available) and Vince’s host has upgraded php version so it is no longer compatible with phpBB 3.0.x. The solution is to upgrade to phpBB version 3.2.2

Still down but he has put a message up saying "This board is currently disabled"
He has some phpBB expert working on it

No not yet - I told Vince to remove the "This board is currently disabled" and put a notice up so people know he is working on things
Now the title forum banner says: "Real 4x4's is UNDERGOING MAINTENANCE and UPDATES. Please stand by."
Fingers crossed it can be fixed!

I tried to use it last night and was not going.

As you know Garry, it back up and working, just posting so others are aware too

yes and looking good - just not real keen on colour scheme but a minor consideration at this stage.

Better now that the neon green is gone!
Fine tuning and time should get it
This kind of color scheme is easier and cleaner on the eyes

I just have an issue with the black background but is not a worry at this stage - once the important issues have all been put to bed then I might raise it but not now. Many sites have optional themes contained in the User Control Panel and hopefully with time that option will make it onto the site.

Our blue and white theme on here is pretty easy on the eyes.
