Oil leak on the gearbox

Post by heinkeljb »

As I wait for my front diff bash guard bobbins, I have been looking at the rest of the drive train. Noticed an oil leak from a bit of the gearbox which I didn't think would produce a leak, but obviously has. Anyone know what might be the cause and therefore provide a remedy?
It appears to be from the joint between the gearbox selection tower and the gearbox proper. Does this mean some bolt(s) / Nut(s) have come loose?

The cover gasket is shot, re seal the cover (you can make the gasket).
Very common seepage point.

Thanks Jim,

How much do I have to take apart in order to get to the gasket? No issue with making a replacement gasket, just haven't taken that bit apart before.
