Does anyone know of an alternative rubber boot that will fit the front & rear swing arm axle (thinking that a VW Golf l / Ford Fiesta / Opel Corsa CV boot might fit)? I have a very non-original Series l SWB with perished rubber boots that need replacing.
Thanks.

Re: Swing Arm Rubber Boot Alternative
I cannot help with your question but if you do not want to have to pull all your suspension apart to get the boots in you need to get the split version - the Haflinger split boots are not cheap but are cost effective given the the amount of work they save - and with a bit of sealant work perfectly - all four on my vehicle are of the split style.

Good advice guys, thanks. I do know how difficult it is getting the drive shaft with it's square bearing 'stones' inserted into the diff.
I will look harder into importing the split version from Europe.
kerry, by 'correct type of silicon' do you mean rubber grease?

How desperate are you for them?
I shall be visiting SA in November and could bring some then if required.

not silicon grease .
the type that cures and sticks , but remains flexible .
dow corning and others make an oil resistant type .
this sticks the join together
really needs to cure before flexing

@heinkeljb: very kind of you, as you can see this project is not exactly racing along and I may indeed take up your offer.
@kerry: thanks for the clarity, the silicon is to seal the joint not to preserve/lube the inside of the boot.

Re: Swing Arm Rubber Boot Alternative
Oil from the diff flows from the diff through the boot into the swing arm - the boot as such is just a fexible oil seal. I used silicon gasket maker that is compatible with oil such as these http://www.permatex.com/products-2/prod ... ket-makers
