I know this has been mentioned before but I cant find the post , I am about to refit the gearbox casings that have gaskets to seal the joints, last time I used sealer called
aviation form a gasket #3, unfortunately I have oil leaks. I was advised by someone to use Loctite no 3 . I remember a white coloured sealer being mentioned, that is used on Japanese engines?? does any one know what this is called and which it the best type to use for this type of application.

Caution, use only zero clearance sealant. Permatex Aviation sealant(shallack based, has brush in cap)or anaerobic sealant(also called gasket maker, it is transparent red, a little goes a long way).
