Gidday all,
Have removed all of the springs and top and bottom locator plates and have fitted a set of spacer tubes between the lower swing arm and the top cross member to stop the swing arm from moving to far up or down.
Have checked all of the bits before sand blasting and discovered a bullet hole in the lower plate on the NSR.I wonder if at some stage somebody tried to put this mechanical horse out of its misery, or when it was used up in the NT some one got on the Bundy one night and went troppo.
Regards Rick.

As long as it doesn't foul anything when fitted correctly, a bung in the hole along with some anti rust should make it serviceable for the next 40 years! Surprised you have't found a few more bullet hole now you have found that one!

Looks like someone lent a loaded rifle up under a haffie, Imagine the head that would roll if you did that in the Army. Don't change it Rick, great history. danny
