Hello,
I don't find the pages on the "spare parts catalogue" edition 1970 cod. 907.1.70.253.4
of the overload clutch for crawler gear.
I have the following pages :
- 2 01/0
- 2 05/0
- 2 08/0
- 2 09/0
- 2 20/0
Where I can find the catalogue with those pages ?

Can someone explain what this overload clutch is please as I have not heard of it before.

I just assumed the crawler gear is just 1st in a normal 5 speed box with that gear being extra low.

if it exists , it must take a lot to actuate it .

I am not sure if these are the right date for you, but they may help? (I too do not have 2 08/0 or 2 09/0).

In the early gearboxes there is a "krawler" gear which is essentially a very low 1st gear but it was thought necessary to prevent the engine torque from doing any damage to the gear train, they put in a clutch - it is mentioned in the repair manual in the section about rebuilding the gearbox.

It appears they soon found that it was more trouble than it was worth, as it was dropped as a feature in the gearboxes quite soon in production. My exploded parts book is the same as the Op's and there is no parts listing for the bits. I think you would need a very early parts book to get part numbers or the sequence of the bits in order to put it back together.

John - thanks for that explanation - from your description it is exactly the same as the Nokkin winch on my Landrover 101 - it too has an inbuilt clutch to prevent damage when drive form the engine exceeds the capacity of the winch.

My '62 has the clutch ,really freaked me out the first time I heard it! Sounds like a ratchet wrench when you spin it around. Called Jim L., worried that I broke something, He laughed and said it was normal! I run atv tires and I was really pressing it up a sand dune at the time. Also I read somewhere that you could permanently "lock-up" the clutch,but I never bothered.

The parts list is from a 1961 print , which I found on the internet. I think I posted the web address some time ago when Goatwerks and Julian were looking for a drawing of a carb.
The web address is www.haflinger-luescher.ch click on Haflinger, then spares, scroll to bottom of page then you have a choice of series 1 or 2

I printed both copies and laminated them , I also laminated a 1965 and 1970 parts and a repair manual. very handy when you are using them with oily hands, they just wipe off.
