Platform detail pics required . . .

Post by HerrFlinger »

Hi all -
My platform may be going away soon for repair at a fabrication company.

It has had some repairs in the past prior to me buying it including new side sections from the rear to the (rear of the) front seat section. Whilst these has been fitted satisfactorily, others repairs are not brilliant . . .
The platform has had some pretty crude sections of bar welded around the sections which join the engine bay sides to the platform - I can only presume in an attempt to address significant corrosion near the tow bar fixing holes.

So, please can anyone provide images either on here or via e mail of that area so I can pass these to the fabricators for reference ?

The platform is an early swb ie with the plain engine bay sides - if this makes a difference ?

I have read with great interest the recent thread on the body off restoration. The pics on there are very helpful, but it's close ups of the areas described above which will help greatly -

Many thanks in anticipation !

Hi Paul, and welcome to the Hafllinger, com,

I am sure Julian (when he is back), will take pictures of any parts you would like. Just ask him nicely! Any pictures of yours in it's state of dis-repair? We are all nuts enough to take an interest in what others are doing.
Oh yes, it would be nice if you would put atleast a little into your profile, even if only to tell where in the world you are.
If you have trouble posting pictures, I did a quick guide:

Just chose the section you want to post in, choose new topic, give it a title. It makes little sense to hijack some one else post for something you know is going to produce a fair number of posts in reply.

Have you hit the "DONATE" button at the bottom of the page after reading this post? Many thanks if you have!!

Hi Paul,

If you could upload some images of the area that you are talking about I can then take a photo of mine - I am not 100% sure which bit you are referring to. My 1962 SWB body is being bead blasted as I type, but is due back at the end of this week.
