Another 1 for the list?

Gidday all,
Another Haffie on ebay the other day, which was down in Tassie. Was at $2000 I think, but when I went to have a second look at it, the thing was gone. Talk about selling like ammo at duck opening, you have to be quick. There would be some decent costs involved to bring it back to the mainland by ferry, but you could overcome that by coming around the back way.
Regards Rick.

Simplest way, use a long wheel base high top van and put the Haf inside, that way you only pay for one vehicle on the ferry!

Hey John,
I went to Tassie once for a motor bike rally and we all gathered at Port Melbourne from all over Australia to get on the ferry and the cost for every ones vehicle and trailer loaded with a bike was enough to pay off the national debt. So after some frantic restacking of multiple bikes onto trailers and into the backs of cars we had a heap of trailers left over.
We went down to the local police station and finally got them to store the dozens of left over trailers in the back yard of the station and at the rally AGM and awards presentation there was a trophy for the best Police Accommodation. This was presented to them when we got back to Melbourne.
Regards Rick.

The cost of crossing the Strait if you just have one vehicle is quite reasonable - the issue is when you are towing something that the operators really get their hook into you. So John's suggestion is spot on as the extra exorbitant fees to not apply. A folded down Haffie in the back of a big ute would be the cheapest.
