Ex Army Haffy on Gumtree for sale again.

This one has done the rounds. Was on Ebay in aug 2012 and passed in not meeting the reserve.
Then on Gumtree in QLD Jan 2014 for $3k
Now in SA for $4k

Hmm - irrespective of it being ex Aust Army, I am not sure what is displayed in the ad is worth the asking price.

Is the Haf in the advert the same one as in the army pic?

Yes it is the one in the Army pic. I have been following this haffy for a long time now and the price is getting stupid for what it is.
I offered a price to the bloke in QLD selling it many years ago and he refused it so I let it go.
It disappeared off the seen and now it's back.
The only way you can tell it ARN is from the motor records.
With the rust in it it is only good for the motor,

Well as a person who is into older vehicles, as far as providence goes it is the matching numbers etc that determine the authenticity of the vehicle and the Haflinger body takes its chassis number from the gearbox number with no specific "body number". So you could rebody that Haflinger with an army style body and as long as you use the original engine case and the gearbox then "officially" you have the original army Haflinger in the pic (101-852)- (Chassis - 5357887).

Interestingly the spare engine belongs to an ex Aust Army Haflinger only a few ARNs away (101-845) - (Chassis - 5357854). I wonder where the remains of that vehicle is.

Ex Army Haffy 101845 has gone to the rusty heaven.
It was completely rusted out so the only thing that got saved was the motor.
Got scrapped in QLD prior to 2010 ish. My info came from the guy how originally had the rusty unit which as now back on Ebay also had this ex army motor as a spare.
This is why I only have a picture of the motor on my Haffy ARN web page.
