I will get new rubbers and see what happens - however yesterday I did pull all the levers up and wrapped some electrical tape around the levers - actually worked a treat - the levers went down OK and when pulled back up there was enough friction between the donuts and the tape to hold them up - obviously a temporary solution with electrical tape so when I get the new rubbers I will put some electrical heat shrink tube over the relevant area of the levers and see how that goes.

Sounds like a plan Gary, Are you going to colour code the heat shrink to the levers?

The current covers on the levers are in good condition so they will stay - I will cover them from below the current covers - most likely will just a go a neutral black.
