Is the Forum Dying

Posting rate seems to be declining - is the forum dying?

More seriously though ... Perhaps with it rapidly becoming cold & wintery in the northern hemisphere folks are using their Haflingers less right now? I for one doubt I'll be doing much to mine for a month or three unless I have to.

I hope not :!:
I just purchased 7 more Hafi's

List
1 Poly cab
1 Canadian bug eye
1 Swiss
1 Austrian
3 Pathfinders (1 already sold)

Yeah - now I can delay my Hafi restoration even longer  ha ha

Yep - I guess that has to be it :)

Now that most (not all) of my issues have been resolved I have not had much of a need to post lately.

My Hafi is still sitting in my shop, with periodic surgery to replace thin or missing sheet metal. I'm not doing the surgery... I've been too sick from the chemo treatments I'm getting to really do much.

I read the forum almost daily, but unless I'm in need of questions answered, or come across cool Haflinger related info, I'm not posting.

I also read the forum nearly every day, but don't ask anything unless I'm feeling particularly stuck or particularly brazen. Having only one or two days a week to really work on it doesn't add up to much to talk about. Add to that the fact that I'm a newbie full of stupid questions and what you get is a very faithful, but nevertheless poorly-contributing forum member.

Maybe everyone's haflingers are running well and there are no problems to report or ask advice about? :) No news is good news, right?

Where the heck does one find 7 Haflingers at the same time in Canada??!! :o

Only 5 were here :D
Will end up posting photos of them all as they will be for sale but will do that in a separate thread

And yes Garry - I will try to post more here as well - I do read/check this forum everyday!
My build thread is over at Real4x4 and I own a Pinz so it provides 2 in 1 reading

Garry,
Quite the contrary!
This forum shows no evidence of fading away. There may be lulls in activity from time to time based on seasonal factors as well as other priorities in our collective lives. Personally, my career has taken a whole new and exciting direction that has my time tied up quite extensively with both trainings and teaching. My continued interest in all things Haflinger has not diminished one bit and am confident that the majority of others using this forum feel the same.
Take care.

Yes - I guess the main reason for the recent lull was John heading south for a while and Lurch having a rest

Well I'm back from a couple of weeks in South Africa to visit my father. Took my son, his girl friend and my Grandson with me. Joshua, who is 4 and a half month old took to his first air plane ride quite well considering it was 11 hours long! Then there was a wait and another 2 hour flight. With all the car travel, it actually takes us 24 hours to go door to door.

In the mean time Lurch had to sit on the drive way in the wet and cold. I will get to try starting him tomorrow evening as have been busy with work and then unpacking etc.

I am quite sure there are various things that will need attention so quite likely to be questions asked.

Unfortunately - NONE!

Our 2 weeks were rather booked with things to go and do and see, but on none of the trips did we see anything interesting in the form of vehicles - maybe the odd VW beetle and similar age Toyota's, Datun's, but nothing in the 4x4 variety.

Morning all, The question was asked, "is the forum dying?" I hope NOT as I have only just joined and have about a thousand questions to ask when I think of them. I asked a question on the first post I have ever done in life, anywhere, and looked again under the subject of my query, which was the dynastart and found the answer I was looking for and it had been posted by someone 12 months before I asked the question. How good is that. I check this forum every morning and night and am currently going through the whole thing again as I want to post some photos of my mechanical horse and have no idea on how to do it. I have seen somewhere on a post on how to do it, but I can't remember where. Never mind it is a good reason to read them again.I am sweet with whatever it is if it has got wheels, wings or boilers but am yet to learn all of this computer business. My partner will be roped in to help with my problem when she gets a spare hour or possibly two.
Having just started my rebuild I am yet to get into the usual problems that everyone has had years ago, so I really hope this forum continues for many a year as it is a rich source of info on everything concerning Haffies, and it is easy to navigate around as even I can do it.
Regards Rick.

Hi Rick,

I produced this some time ago :-

http://thehaflinger.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=640

But I see you have started working out how to post photos already.. Just need to continue the same way about adding another photo in the same thread in exactly the same way you added the first one. That way you get several pictures in one post rather than each picture in a separate post - not that there is anything wrong with doing that, but it's nice to have a bit of cometary to go with the photos!

As suggested already, no such thing as a silly question when you are new to something, the silly bit comes in when you have failed to searching for the answer before posting - As you discovered with the Dynastart question, someone might have asked / answered it already.

Just in case it doesn't show up unless you open a post - There is a new announcement at the top of each page for those who are interested!

The announcement does not make the slightest bit of difference to most people and it is only there to give people some information of things that happen behind the scenes.
