Well water blasting does a ripper job on 40 year old engine components! I can't take credit for this one though.

Re: Retread in Australia (12")
Well no need for retreads when there are sets of new unused Semperit Universal grip tyres stashed away!

All three sold at auction to 3 separate buyers. SWB early series (pre-tropical intake) went to a buyer in St Arnaud, Victoria FZG 5305551. SWB series 2 incomplete unit went to Claire, Sth Australia. The LWB 703AP with minor surface rust and missing dyna-starter FZG 5503128 went to B.Callahan in Cola...

Re: Haflinger , number sold in Australia
Kerry,
Any idea roughly how many of the units sold into Australia would have been LWB?

Steve (HaffyHunter) took some basic dimensions of the hood sticks for me a couple of years ago. I hope he doesn't mind me sharing here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4m6d6vp84qjmbgx/AACl0CHYo5ZBnYT8BlUZngb0a?dl=0 Note: the hoop width dimensions are tube centerline-to-centerline. The vertical measuremen...

Same guy has a Landrover Disco on eBay. He says "I have a sore leg and I'm grumpy... Don't annoy me".

Separate category for tyres and rims
Would it make sense to have a separate category under general technical? It's a common topic and not always posted in the same category.

Retread in Australia (12")
Anybody know a retread supplier in Australia who could do 12" off road tyres? I remember seeing a posting with photos either here or the Yahoo group but can't seem to find it again.

Is there an easy way to delete all these bogus members and make all their posts vanish with them?

Re: This one needs a bit of TLC!
Rick, I'm interstate now so can't check the number on the side of the gearbox. Will check at Christmas time. John, Well it was purchased new by him so there is no doubt it was always SWB. And your comment is exactly the response I got when I asked him if he could explain what might have happened. He...

This one needs a bit of TLC!
My Dad's SWB Haflinger. I checked the serial number plate and Fzg. Nr. = 5313021. But I was a bit perplexed by the plate which says: Fzg. Typ: STEYR-PUCH 703APK HAFLINGER Sept 1974 From what I understand 703 means it is LWB (no) and K = Kommunal = Polycab (no). Not sure what is going on there! Maybe...

Rick,
I'm told Barry Jones made these cabs. But they weren't common.
Cheers,
Jim

A different one from the archives. This one seems to have an aluminium cab and a different rear engine door.

He does recall that Moffatt Virtue was around that time the importer of Steyr agricultural tractors. So it starts to make sense.
