Re: 703 for sale in Australia
Noticed a serial number there starting with 535xxx. The Haf I had was a 1969 model and it's serial numbers started with 536xxx. His workshop manual states 1969 and Mod 700 but that probably means nothin.

When i got mine in 2007 there was another in Townsville in road worthy commission but i left it so i could have mine as a project. I have also seen one being used on a farm just out of Malanda in the Atherton Tablelands North Queensland.

Hi Gary,
Do you know what the Austin Champs went for? A mate of mine down in Wagga used to have one in the eighties. Great machine but heavy and very over-engineered.
Thanks.

Hi Doug,
I don't know if this will help but I trimmed the end of the pin with a cut-off blade on my angle grinder and punched the pin out to remove the lids.

Re: Parts Suppliers for English Speaking People
Hi Richard,
I bought a set of Alpha rims for my haf from these guys a couple of months ago and I found them to be very helpful and easy to get on with. Lots of knowledge and plenty of stories if they have the time to talk. I will definitely talk to these guys again in the future..

Hi Garry,
He couldn't guarantee the same make of casings and I found out by the local tyre fitter that the casings are up to 10 years old. I'm not too worried but keep that in mind if you decide to buy some. A couple of them have slight cracks appearing.

Re: What did you do with your Haflinger today?
Hi guys,
I have got my tyres and rims sorted now. The rims are 13" from an Alpha Romeo 33 and the tyres are 175/70R13 retreads with a rally pattern from the New South Wales Retread Company in Penrith, Sydney. They should go alright when I finally get haf finished.

Re: My Haflinger's Progress
Not much more progress. Trying to work out where all the wires go onto the back of the dash. A bit of confusion with the wiring diagrams but I'm trying to work that out this weekend. Sending more miscellaneous pieces to the sand blaster on Monday to get cleaned up and primed. I don't think that the ...

Latest update is the Narva Halogen headlight conversion and home made headlight guards. Will be using 55w/65w H4 bulbs for now as I will be replacing all the other lights with LED's to suit. This should keep my current usage down below maximum. The original owner must have replaced the headlights ye...
