Re: Well, the Dynastarter woes are ongoing...any ideas, folk
I appreciate the offer, might well take you up on it. I'll have to dig through my manuals and look, again, at the schematics. I'm leaning towards there being another break in the windings, since the motor basically acts like a 24v starter running on 12v. My other option is to disassemble again, and ...

Re: Well, the Dynastarter woes are ongoing...any ideas, folk
Thank you John, one thing that might also help me is to verify the connections to the brushes. Something is telling me that the shop connected things incorrectly, but unfortunately I don't have enough detail in my disassembly photos to verify. There is one brush connector that has three wires going ...

Well, the Dynastarter woes are ongoing...any ideas, folks?
So, received the Dynastart back from the local shop, he found four breaks in the windings that he repaired. He load tested it, spun it up, checked for charging, everything checked out according to him. Unit had stator recut, same old brushes put in because there's plenty of life in them, wires repai...

Re: Looking for the old engine for a Swiss 700AP engine#5355
I think you just won the lottery! While going through some of Scott's Haflinger parts, I came across that very case. Case looks ok even though the crankshaft was in 2 pieces. Left a message with Scott for you. I can put it in the parts washer for a better look if you like. :o :D Thanks for the call...

Where you at the Overland Expo a year ago, or so? Yes,the past 3 years, including the "mud"event! The Haffy is a natural in mud,I stuttled families around that were having a hard time crossing the muddy road. They said what do we owe you,I said beer is good! Came back to camp later to many...

Sounds like a very interesting vehicle, João!
I'd also like to see and hear more of it, and that DAF engine setup.

Re: Tail Board
Did anyone ever get any dimensions for those dies?
If so, could you please post them up? Right now I'm welding up a tube style sideboard and tailboard set, but I still want to make some repro boards that look correct, at some time in the future.

For some reason I just read this post, OP.
For anyone looking to do this, and an alternate item, look for Horse Stall Mat. It's a very thick, recycled rubber mat. I've been using it for years for truck beds, archery target backers, etc.

Re: Trouble mounting atv tires onto stock rims
I cannot get these tires to seat on the rim, even after soapy oceans of water and industrial compressors through a non valve stemmed hole. Even tried the 2" ratchet strap around the circumference and warming them up. Any issue to running tubes? OK, so what exactly is happening? The sidewalls a...

So another Trails day happened and I took Lurch along. More interesting than other days - I am hoping for some more video taken by others to appear on social media sites as it was one of the highlights of the day (obviously)! https://www.facebook.com/emma.cornwell.56/videos/1475716825802818/ Unfort...

Re: New Ebay Aust Listing - Tell him he is dreaming
He does seem to have lots of spares for it, but I think he'd have a much better chance of selling it if he managed to make it look better.
Maybe it's me, but it looks rough at first glance.
