Re: So for this fine day, I give you.....the Crofton BUG
Hi Constantin, That will be very interesting to hear if any of the old employees recall anything. I will do a higher quality scan of both sides and post/send them to you. Unfortunately no dates, publishers, or any other data on there. Julian: Interesting that they didn't copy any SDP sales images, b...

Re: So for this fine day, I give you.....the Crofton BUG
Tech...yeah, I thought it was a frikking amazing find. There's nothing that I've found on the net about this. When you google the "Crofton Bug" that mini jeep creation pops up, but absolutely nothing about the Haflinger. We've got a very large automotive swap meet/flea market here in the S...

Re: Making progress.....
Yep, even though the Icom is a 100 watt radio, I run it at 5 watts, and the reality is that it's mostly receive. I'll also be running a volt meter to monitor, and when it's sitting it'll be on a solargizer system. It would be lots of fun to find one of the funk trucks.....maybe something to keep an ...

Re: Making progress.....
Thanks Julian! As to that number plate, bought it off a site I found....funny thing is that the shop that made it is about 6 miles from me. I could have driven over there and picked it up, LOL. CustomEuropeanPlates.com is the site I bought it from, $45. Now I need to work on the rear hoop, going to ...

Making progress.....
Still need to sort out the front locker issue, but it's starting to feel like it'll be ready for a run soon. Actually had it out on the street for the first time, did about 10 miles, just checking out the street manners. Plus I also went to our local steam and antique engine museum, got lots of very...

Nice, always wondered where to get those.
Now how about the hooks/eyes that go on to the side boards?

Re: 12" Road Legal Tyres (Again) - What are the Mayolas Like
There's one guy I keep seeing when I do the tire searches, and he specializes in the little Japanese Daihatsu trucks, along with others. He advertises some of the 12" tires, including the Yokohama and the Dunlops. http://best-used-tractors.com/ktruck_wheels_tires.html is the page URL - dunno if...

Re: Those limit straps....
John - do you know if these straps have the same part number as the earlier ones? I'd also be curious to hear if anyone has any of these newer ones NOS, and can give a length for the new ones. We've already gotten the length for the older ones, but if the new versions are actually a couple of cm's l...

Re: Those limit straps....
Ah, very interesting. Thanks for the clarification. Since this one with the larger strap end has broken too, I'm going to make the strap wider. There doesn't seem to be any distortion on the ones I have, so I'll go with a stronger strap and just keep an eye on the shackles for any issues.

Re: Those limit straps....
I wonder if this was a field fix, or something. Maybe there were a bunch of pinzgauer shackle ends in a box somewhere that were utilized for Hafi straps.....but it's still a PITA to make a bushing like this.
Anyway, interesting difference.

Re: Those limit straps....
Pulled the broken rear strap off to start that repair....and it's different from the front straps. Different style of end (both wider for the strap section, but still the same number of strands, and a larger hole for the bolt, that's been bushed down to the correct 12mm size). It looks like it's a b...

Re: Robert Prokschi - Customer Service
Good to hear that. Customer Service is something that's definitely going out of style, at least in most places.
I'll probably be making an order with Prokschi within the next few months.

Re: Those limit straps....
Howdy John, Thanks....looks can be deceiving, lol. Have to see how they perform. Anyway, yeah, for curiosity I'll check full droop while strapped, and unstrapped. The thing that concerns me is not so much the damper travel, since they can be replaced, or the springs....but having the limit straps br...

Re: Those limit straps....
Thanks, but the real test is to come.... If anyone wants I did take some pics during the process, I'd be happy to post up a DIY guide. Not hard to do at all....just a PITA lol. Well, I did break a pair of needle nose pliers...so I guess there was some carnage involved. Now I've got to pull one of th...

Looks like it turned out ok, but the truth will be seen on the trail. https://czechsixpix.smugmug.com/Haflinger/i-5HTwDH6/0/L/Installed%20limit%20strap-L.jpg We'll just have to see if anything happens, but it's definitely better than it was. I just hope it lasts. So - 17 feet of 3/32" stainless...

Re: Those limit straps....
Kerry - sorry to bother you again, but was that length measurement center to center, or inner edge to inner edge? My old strap measures out at around 370mm, which is a surprising difference, considering that it's steel cable. (at least...I'd think that there would have been less stretch, but I'm pro...

Re: So what are you folks using for transmission gear oil no
I remember seeing one or another lube chart with the gear oils being hypoid rated, too.
