Re: Has anyone used Maxsport R81 12" tires?...now XTR 12" ti

Alrighty, all four are mounted, took her for a short drive today, over muck and mud. Worked well! Tech - you asked about weight. I weighed both the old Maloya/wheel and new XTR/wheel combos. Maloya (worn to the bone) and wheel, 28#. XTR and wheel, 33#. Cascade - yep, rolling resistance is definitely...

Re: So has anyone re-woven the limit straps?

Yep, I was following that thread, Garry. Nothing seems to have happened though, thought I'd go ahead and just start another thread. I'll be trying to find the cable tomorrow during my daily errands. If I do find it, I'll definitely be trying to relace the straps, and taking pics. I can't see how har...

So has anyone re-woven the limit straps?

If so...any tips to doing them? I'm thinking I'll make a jig to support the ends at the right distance, with enough height to work under and over, and then commence to weaving. Might as well do stainless steel, there's a local industrial liquidator that usually has a spool of it. Any idea on total l...

Re: Has anyone used Maxsport R81 12" tires?...now XTR 12" ti

Oh, and by the way Heinkel...yep, wheel choices are a whole 'nother pain to deal with. As I mentioned, I might really be looking to get a set of Stockton wheels made for this eventually, depending on price. I'm pretty sure that's where Soni got his made, if not, at a similiar place. He was running t...

Re: Has anyone used Maxsport R81 12" tires?...now XTR 12" ti

Garry - It's a touch choice...most of the use I have for this truck is off road, but it would be nice to have a set of regular AT or M/S tires in the 12"...but then again I don't want to keep swapping wheels. Might come down to that though, after I see how these work. Some of the nice things ab...

Re: Has anyone used Maxsport R81 12" tires?...now XTR 12" ti

Yep, primarily off road out here. Very little on road, but we do have quite a bit of hard pack too that they'll be used on. The reality of things is that most of the use will be on my property, transferring firewood from A to B, refuse, landscape maintenance, etc. Actually getting it loaded onto a t...

Re: Has anyone used the Maxsport R81 12" tires?

I'll have to see how the clearance goes, when the front wheel is lock to lock and at full compression. It might fit, but I'm sure I'll have to drop the spare holder a bit...tire is wider. If I can't make the spare work, then I'll go bed mount, and the spare tire holder will be converted to hold an a...

got them today...probably mount them this weekend, depending on work load https://czechsixpix.smugmug.com/Haflinger/i-SMVvMM2/0/L/20151209_150133-L.jpg angle makes this look lots larger...it's actually pretty close to the Maloya, and if the Maloya was fresh I think they'd be almost the same size. ht...

Yep, we'll have to see how they work out. They should be here early next month, I'll mount them up and see how it works out. I'll post some pics so everyone can point and laugh.

Re: Has anyone used the Maxsport R81 12" tires?

OK, been in contact with Mike, the owner of minisport-usa. He doesn't have them in stock, orders them from the UK on an as needed basis...if ordered off his website, I received a quote total of just under a couple hundred bucks per tire. That ain't gonna happen, no way. I contacted him again, he sai...

Re: What is the largest diameter tire?

Yep, gonna necropost here! The OP's original question was never answered, this thread turned into a wheel size discussion. So - what's the max, reasonable tire diameter that'll work on a Haf? Giving decent off road performance, not stressing the system too much, etc. Maloya's are what...24" rol...

Re: Has anyone used the Maxsport R81 12" tires?

Yeah, I keep searching and searching...here's the thing that might be a no go: They work out to 520mm inflated diameter...so an inch less height than a Maloya. I'm not sure I want to give up the extra clearance...but the only other option that I've found (other than UTV tires) is to go 13" or l...

The medium compound ones? http://www.minisport-usa.com/mini-spare-parts/MaxsportRB1Yellow_2.jpg About 2cm narrower, which I don't think will even be noticeable, but with their cross section looks like they'll do well on road and off road too. Not much flotation...but not a heavy vehicle to begin wit...

Re: Which electric fuel pumps are you folks using?

Oh, I did, just not locally. We have a large auto parts store here, for instance - NAPA. Pretty good, usually. This time, well, they had the regular Facet pump, goes up to 6 psi or so.....could they order the lower pressure one? Sure, they said...but had no way to look it up, and it'll be next week ...

Re: Which electric fuel pumps are you folks using?

Well, I can get the Facet pumps all day too.....and the pressure is too high, from past experience on 'mogs, and other Weber carbs. I've gone down that road before, and I'd rather not do it again...probably still have an old cube pump or two hanging around somewhere lol. As to the area - even the &q...
