Just got the response back from the UK guys, works out to be 170.00USD for two, shipped. Pricy...have to think about it. Heink - I'll give gowerlee a try also, see if their pricing is different.
Tech - what carb are you using on your truck? Is it a Weber?

Re: Which electric fuel pumps are you folks using?
OK, found a 1.5-2.4psi Facet pump from Aircraft Spruce. Haven't heard back from the Huco supplier yet...they're UK.

Re: Which electric fuel pumps are you folks using?
That pump was fitted by the Swiss, very common find on Swiss Milspec units. Looks like the pump cover gasket has shrunk. When they added the electric pump, they installed a block off plate that holds the pump lever secure away from cam. No need to crank to fill carb, faster starting, more reliable(...

Re: Which electric fuel pumps are you folks using?
I can't see how the mechanical would eat up more than a small fraction of the total output, not enough to notice in the larger scheme of things. Well, looks like getting parts for that Huco pump, even though it seems to be a very nice unit, is impossible. So I'll probably just go with one of the Fac...

Re: Which electric fuel pumps are you folks using?
The history on this truck is spotty, and I'm finding out new things as I go along. I don't have any good data on what's been done to it, so as I get into it....repairs. What I was told, and Jim L. can correct me if necessary, is that the original engine was blown, and this is a Puch 650 from a car. ...

There is that, but for me it's just easier to source than a rebuild kit for the mechanical.....

Re: Which electric fuel pumps are you folks using?
Yep, probably what I'll be doing, Jim. I'll probably pull the old electric pump that's there, wire up a fused relay and replace it with one of the Facet style pumps...or whatever I find that's available. Which electric fuel pumps are you folks using?
Anything better than a 12v Facet 2-4 psi pump? Or even lower pressure?

Very nice....I wonder....was this someone's project, or is there actually a builder's badge on it?

Anyone have a throttle shaft spring for a Weber 32ICS?
This little spring on the shaft...neither one of my carbs has it, I'd like to go to fully stock for a while.....

Re: Solid sheet headache panel?
That's kinda what I was thinking - more or less of a field or unit mod. Which unit, and what purpose? Come to think of it, I need to sand some paint down, I think, and see if I can find any unit markings. Or did the Swiss use replaceable placards instead of painting directly on the body, like the US...

Re: Solid sheet headache panel?
Very interesting, Julian.
The one I have is a solid mount, no parts fold. Maybe I'll pull the canvas off tomorrow and take a few pics so everyone can get a better look, that might generate a few more ideas.

Re: Solid sheet headache panel?
Sam - didn't even think of that, good idea. Off to run down some pics!
ETA: Back, no joy on that idea. Looks like they'd actually knock down the windshield, and try to get more or less of a flat deck for launching.

Re: Solid sheet headache panel?
That's the thing, Julian - this wasn't cheap to make. The slots are probably waterjet cut, very accurately done. The stitch welds are nicely done too. It doesn't have the feel of a "home made" hack job to it. It almost looks factory, to me - but I've never seen another one. Which isn't sur...

Re: Solid sheet headache panel?
Yep, that was a good description, wasn't it? ;D Exactly, heinkel - covers the entire roll bar behind the cab. I don't have a good pic of it handy...this pic is in front of Jim's place, but might give you an idea.... https://czechsixpix.smugmug.com/Haflinger/i-75sq36h/0/L/my%20hafi%20at%20jims-L.jpg

Solid sheet headache panel?
I've got a Swiss truck, but one of the interesting things on it is a solid sheet of steel, with some waterjet cut slots to see through, in the middle at head height.
Anyone else seen a model or mod like this? Any idea where it came from, or what the purpose or unit was?

Re: Yay....first issue: Carb float cracked, full of fuel
I can take a video of the air pressure experiment. I'm thinking it's probably not going to be enough, but then again those floats are really thin material...almost a foil. The brazing I did on the manifold was on those heat exchanger tubes and the intake manifold tubing itself - one right at the dri...

Re: Yay....first issue: Carb float cracked, full of fuel
OK, sourced another carb that has a perfect float, so that's going in. The current float that's in there also has a smaller displacement - the half of the float that's cracked has been pushed in. What I might do with it, since it's basically messed up right now, is drill the center hole out again, a...

Weber 32ICS carb....or parts?
Ideally the whole thing, but I'd like to build one up as a spare, so any parts are good too.
