i have never seen a copper ring .
there is the groove in the cylinder which helps the seal .
Steyr Puch were good , but to cast a ring into the exact location . i dont think so .

personally i would not even bother to try it in place
my best effort in removing a motor was 30 minutes .
a flange coupling on the exhaust helps
also the Austrian towbar with QD pins .

G,,day i have made a lot . my main bussiness is canvas work . 1 inch seatbelt webbing works best . from memory three layers through each eye and sewn the full length . multiple layers mean one is a wear layer on the ends . webbing is significantly reduced in strength if a hole is put in it for a bol...

Garry , i cant understand why you are having some of the problems you are having .
the only one i could not get running right had a broken crank , it still ran and was driveable ,
did not run good !!!!!!

G,,day , the other problem with silicon / synthetic brake fluid is the fact it is not hygroscopic . so any moisture / water that gets in does not distribute evenly . because of this a bit of water can boil and create havoc !!!!!!!!!!!!! in normal fluid , water just lowers the boiling point , instead...

the tractor tread tyres on mine were done by a place that does industrial / earthmoving etc
they work very well

G,,day Garry i just had a look , the fibre heat spacer is about 4 mm , i didnt measure it , with a paper gasket on both sides . that fits with other comments . you could also try some good fibre washers under the metal washers when you fit the carby the type of fuel hose can have an affect also . if...

the only thing i would ad
a good strap wrench maybe preferable , so you dont damage the screw on cover .
or a worm drive hose clamp around it and tap it undone .

i would ad a small rare earth magnet .
also flush with kerosene , or diesel .
but preferably on jack stands and idle over to mix it up .

i would leave it dry so it does not attract dust dirt and worn brake shoe material .
